Is anyone interested in starting or has started a cooking club in the Westside/Beach cities / LA area? I'm fairly new to cooking so would enjoy a learning environment.

Our first meeting held on Wed, July 19th was a big success. We are off to a running start so if you are seriously interested in joining in please email me your name, email address, city you live and preferred cooking date ASAP to leti1220@yahoo.com http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/tongue.gif

I am interested in talking about starting a club in your area. Send a reply with any ideas (where, when, etc.) Best day for me would be Friday or Saturday.

It looks like we could be on our way to starting a club. So far, we have 6 people? I would be willing to meet somewhere to discuss details. From reading other messages, this looks like the first step. Any ideas?

Just heard about the supper club in my most recent CL and it sounded fun! I would also be interested in trying it out. So let me know if something is set up. I live in West LA as well.

I would love to be part of your supper club. I love to use Cooking Light and use each issue till it falls apart. This sounds like a really fun idea. Also as a stay at home mom of 5 it would be fun to meet new people who like to cook.

A couple of years ago when I moved to Florida, a group of us got together (6-8)...the premise was that the person was responsible for the "theme" and entree had it at their house and the "guests" brought everything from appetizers to desserts. No one was allowed to "dine" unless they had actually prepared one of the dishes. We had so much fun "rating" the menu's and talking about what we liked about it, or would change about it, and then tried to figure out how much this would have cost us at a restaurant! With everyone working, we did it on a Friday or Sat. night (the "couples" used it as a date night)...let me know how this sounds as a starter for all of you! I am in the West Hollyood/Bev Hills area and have a side business as a personal chef (although need to unfortunately get back into the corporate structure)but LOVE to cook!

I am also interested in the supper club. I live in the beach cities (Redondo) and am flexible about the club night. I would like to first meet at a coffee shop or something to make our plans.

Please let me know the status of the club.

Thanks!

If I'm not too late, I'm interested too. I'm in West LA. It almost sounds like enough people are interested to start one up here and one in the Beach Cities.

Hello.

I'm interested too! I live in West L.A. Since there are so many of us, should we split into WLA and South Bay groups? If so, if anyone has a big enough place, maybe we could have the two groups meet together every so often.

Saturdays would be best for me, since I work in Pomona.

Hey it sounds like a lot of people are interested. Maybe we should split into two groups-West LA and Beach Cities. I live near Redondo. Also, since the weather is so great right now, we could always meet at the park or at the beach and have a potluck kind of picnic thing. Please E mail me with more details. I think this will be fun.

Did the LA/Westside club meet in July? I read the post too late to attend, but I'm very interested in the group.
