I know that some of you have ponds in your backyards, and I haven't even been able to find out the answer to this question from the manufacturer or on their website forum, so I will ask here.

This is a pond aeration device which blows air through tubes and disperses it through the "stones". It will add oxygen to our goldfish pond as well as prevent the top from icing up (not a problem so far this winter, but our time is coming). What I can't figure out is what the composition of the "stones" is-- if these sit on the bottom of the pond they will just cause silt to be swirled around constantly. Not good. I want them to be light enough to float somewhat. That would be especially good for keeping the surface of the pond from icing over.

Is anyone familiar with this product? (crossing my fingers...)
