Yipee!! I got notice through Soldier's Angels that my soldier and the rest of his platoon are coming home the first of February. I'm so glad.

Now I've got to get me another "man" to write to. :D

Awesome, Debie!

On a side note, the latest soldier from our state to be killed this week was a former student of my husband's. And tomorrow, my brother heads back to Iraq for his third tour. :(

Oh, Debie, I'm so happy to hear this! I thank God frequently that mine came home in November but I keep all of our troops in my prayers daily.

That's just fantastic! It's so lovely to hear good news when the papers and news shows are full of such sadness. Thank you for sharing.

An aside is that an ex beau of mine is currently in Iraq for his 3rd tour. We were always very close, though living in different countries, but during his first tour, his girlfriend became very jealous of our correspondence so I backed away, not wanting to cause a rift. I had limited contact with him since and just get occasional news through mutual friends. A few months ago I saw his name pop up on an instant messenger so said hi. Turns out it was his new partner (this sounds like he's a busy man but quite some time has passed, I promise :D ) using his computer while he was away. She was so lovely - she said that he had spoken highly of me, was delighted to make contact and that she'd let me know how he was going. They're getting married once he gets back and I am so happy for them!! :)

My DSS is currently in Baghdad on his second tour. He is not due home until next January. I am having a much harder time with it this time around. :o

that is terrific! Please thank him for me. My son told me yesterday his orders changed and he is NOT going to Iraq in July like planned. YAY!

We still have so many men and women that are over there or going back for another tour. God bless them and their supportive families and friends too! Sue

I'll send him our thanks. I still have an email addy for him, but (obviously) can no longer write. I sure hope my last care package made it to him!!

I've only got one soldier (cousin) left on the ground over there, and he'll come home in July.
