I'm looking for info about All State Camp at Interlochen Arts Camp. Anyone have any recent personal experience to share?

Auditions are this week, and we're just considering it now! Yikes - so any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot!:)

I don't have any RECENT experience, but I can tell you it's a top-notch arts camp and based on my exeperience a "few years" ago, would highly recommend it. And the area is gorgeous. Hope someone else can chime in with what you're looking for.....

Ha! :)Thanks for responding. My experience isn't "recent" either - and mine was with the (then 8 week) National Music Camp kids from all over the world, not the shorter All State sessions.

I don't know much about the program currently - but I am a huge fan of Interlochen in general. I agree with you - it's a lovely area, and being around so many talented kids and faculty is a wonderful experience.

Hope there are more alumni out there...

I live just a few miles from the camp/school & I used to work at the Arts Academy (well, all year long, so I worked during camp, too). I worked in the Theatre Arts Division as an admin. assitant, and I was on one of the planning committees as a rep of our division. I'll tell you, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more dedicated and sincere faculty/staff. They really care about giving a worthwhile experience to the kids, whatever that may be--from the ladies stitching the costumes, to the people running the ticket line. I really admire both the staff people I worked with and the kids in the programs. I consider myself truly lucky to have been paid to spend time in the presence of such enormous talent!
