I'm going to be in NYC this weekend and was looking for some ideas of things to do where we won't freeze. We don't mind walking some (we'll probably mostly use the subway), but obviously would like to keep it to a minumum. The obvious includes museums, but I know DH isn't into too many of those so, we'll probably only try to do one. Is there anything going on right now that we just shouldn't miss (we've been to MoMA and the Guggenheim)? Any fun areas to shop? We're from the Chicago area so we have most of the national chains here, so if we do that I'd like to find something that we can only find in NYC. We're OK with leaving Manhattan if there is something worth seeing as well. We'll don't have a ton of time to visit (Fri-Sun) and I think I have most of the important things planned out (ie the food).

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Check out Time Out NY (http://www.timeout.com/newyork/) for up to date info about what's going on.

Also, it might be a bit cold but if you're keen on a great view I would recommend skipping the Empire State (outrageous lines) and heading to the Top of the Rock (at Rockefeller Center). It's about the same price, far less people know about it and the views are great.
