Hi there http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

I'm in Bellevue, WA and was wondering if there's anyone else from the area on the BB?

You are not alone in WA. I live in Redmond and just returned from the Cooking Light cruise! The idea of a supper club sounded fun,as it was described during one of the times together with the editors. Let me know what you might have in mind.

Yes, finally a reply http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif I was actually thinking about starting off as a small group (it may just be the two of us http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif) after the first of the year. I have a couple of frieds who are in to cooking, too, but their not on this BB. It's too busy right now with the holidays coming to start something...right now I just wanted to get an idea of how much interest there is in this area.

I've seen the advertisements for the cruise...was it incredibly fun and interesting. My husband and I have thought about going next year or, if I'm pregnant next year, the year after.

Hi, I'm in Bellevue as well and love to cook and meet new people. Has anything been started yet?

johannaw...great to hear from you! I haven't started anything yet, but am looking forward to getting a small group started in January after all of the holiday hoopla has passed and I return from a business trip.

What do you think about sometime the week of Jan. 22nd? Wongmom, would this work for you? I'd be happy to host the first club "meeting" at my house...I'm in the Eastgate area, right off of I-90 near the 405 interchange. I have a big kitchen that can easily accomodate a few cooks, plus guests (perhaps we each bring a friend who also enjoys cooking, but is not currently on the BB?).

I was thinking of having an evening where we each try a new recipe from the January 2001 CL? We'd each choose a dish, bring the ingredients and any "special" cookware/utensils...or, we could pre-cook the dishes in our own kitchens and just do the reheat during the get-together? I'm open to ideas.

During the get-together, we can get to know each other and figure out how we want to organize/run our local supper club...not too beurocratic (sp?), but might be nice to have some sort of organized effort http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif We could decide when/where to have the next event & what type of theme we want to have, etc.

Let me know your thoughts http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi,

I belong to one of the first clubs that started here in July in Seattle but we are neyond capacity. I am interested in starting another club, however, to meet new people, try new food and have fun. It really is a lot of fun. Let me know if you are interested and we can plan a meeting.

I was referred to this board by a friend. I am in Issaquah and would love to be involved if possible. Definately after the holidays would be great for me.

Great! We have about 5 or 6 people interested and I've got everyone's email addresses. I'll send out an email in the next couple of weeks so we can decide on a date/time & theme. Thanx so much for all of your interest!

I would also like to join the group -- I live in Redmond and Cooking Light is my favorite magazine. I love to cook and also enjoy trying new recipes.

Wow...so many responses, I'm overwhelmed http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Watch for an email tonight on the details.

For anyone else interested, I'm going to have to cut off the list of attendees for the January kickoff meeting as we've gotten pretty big now (15). Please do let me know if there is interest, though, and we'll see if we have some space after January's kickoff meeting, or if we decide to break up in to several smaller groups.

Thanx http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Hi there.
I realize you're club is full for now. I am interested in joining/starting another club in the Seattle area. If a space opens up, keep me in mind.
Thank you.

Will do C. We will actually be discussing if 15 in a group is too big, too small, etc. on the 22nd. I'll post a note and let you know if we've decided to break in to smaller groups, stay with the group as is, invite more people, etc. Keep watchin' the board http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
