I belong to a DVD club, the Spiritual Cinema Circle, and every month get a DVD of thought provoking, inspirational (but with no particular religious affiliation) films. I share the DVDs with various friends and when they've made the rounds, I'd like to send them on to a soldier overseas-- I'm sure they could use some positive, inspiring entertainment.
I used to send books and magazines through Books for Soldiers, but that's gotten complicated, so I thought I'd check to see if anyone on the CLBB knows a soldier who would like to receive such DVDs from time to time and would be willing to PM me with contact information.

Whenever I want to send a care package to a soldier I use http://anysoldier.com/. You can send premade carepackages of all varieties or get the contact info of a particular soldier and send them stuff that you collect and ship out. Maybe you could contact the organization and see if they want to add a new variety of care package- the inspirational? They already have different types of CP's- male, female, healthy.

What a great idea! Thank you!!
I just came across your post and wanted to tell you about a great way to send those dvds to the troops. There's a program called "Operation DVD", run by a veterans organization called AMVETS. Their goal is to send over 1 million dvds to the troops (new or used). They'll even pay for the shipping over there! You can find out more about them at their website at www.operationdvd.us. My 12 year old son began a collection through them and has been able to collect tons of movies for the soldiers - and it's great to see how much they appreciate them (you can see some of the thank yous right on the website). Hope this info helps!

Another great idea! Thank you!
I had finished watching one of the Spiritual Cinema Circle DVDs and it struck me that someone who is far from home in very stressful circumstances could benefit from watching positive, uplifting films.
