My brother and his wife are going to Palm Springs for their 10th anniversary. Told them I'd ask this wonderful group for any restaurant recommendations.
Castelli's is the only restaurant on their list so far. They especially love Mexican or Tex/Mex and Italian, but all suggestions are welcome!
Editing to say - they don't much care for sushi :-)

I can't remember the name (may come to me later), but on the way to Palm Desert on the left side of the road... very contemporary looking, large restaurant was great about 4 years ago.. I had fish, sister had prime rib... it was wonderful.... also a place in Palm Desert that was kinda built into the cliff,,, very nice! Sorry I'm having a senior moment on names.
Ok, Did a search and think that this is the cliff place.... sounds right...

Hi Goldie - I found a great site for you:
Here (http://www.palmsprings.com/dine.html)
The only one I know personally to be wonderful is Kobe's Steakhouse.

The restaurant built into the cliff is the Cliffhouse Restaurant. It is actually in La Quinta (a fair drive from Palm Springs).
My favorite Palm Springs restaurant is Blue Coyote, north end of Palm Canyon. Don't miss having a Wild Coyote there (their signature margarita). I was there earlier this week and had the carnitas (steamed in a banana leaf--very tender). DH had the Mexican meatloaf which he was was wonderful. I think I've probably had 80% of what they have on the menu, and I'm never disappointed. Ooh, seafood enchiladas (layered, not rolled) are always good there!
Castelli's is good, they just lost one of their cooks in an auto accident this weekend--he was in school to be a chef.
I like Pierro's Acqua Pazza at the River in Rancho Mirage. Lots of seafood. But then Pacifica in Palm Desert is supposed to be a better seafood restaurant.
Back in Palm Springs, I've heard good things from Spencer's Restaurant, and of course there is always Melvyns. Kaiser Grill has some good food, but I haven't been there in ages.
In Palm Desert, Devane's (Itallian) is good (IMO) and you might run into William Devane (or his look-alike brother).
Feel free to PM me if you want any other suggestions. I just can't, off the top of my head, think of any others.

I like both of the above restaurants, they may be too far from PS.
