I am interested in starting one of cookinglights supper clubs for the Portland area. Is anyone else interested in joining? I think Saturday or Sunday nights would be good time and meet around the 15th of the month. I love to try some new recipes and make new friends who share the same interest in food.

I WOULD LOVE TO JOIN A SUPPER CLUB! I LIVE
IN VANCOUVER BUT COMMUTE TO PDX AND DON'T
MIND DRIVING. SUNDAY EVENINGS ARE USUALLY
GOOD FOR ME, AND WOULDN'T MIND HOSTING ON
SOME OCCASIONS. JUST GOT DONE MAKING THE
OOEY GOOEY BROWNIES FROM THIS ISSUE...
DANGEROUSLY YUMMY!
HOPE TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE SOON, AS IT LOOKS LIKE THERE IS ENOUGH OF US INTERESTED TO GET IT STARTED.

I would also like to join a Portland Supper Club. I live in Beaverton, but would be willing to go to other parts of Portland. Also willing to host the group in my home.

I love to cook and would love to meet some fellow cooking lighters! Would be willing to host as well. We live in Tigard and have little kids, so Friday or Saturday would be the best for us.

Hi Clark and all,

It sounds like we have a good number of people who are interested http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif I can't start till early March though... How does Mar 17 or 18 sound to have a meeting at a restaurant in downtown Portland? Any suggestions on where to meet? Maybe Bastas? or?? I understand if you guys want to start earlier than that.

Does the Supper Club need more members? Perhaps we could all meet for a get acquainted, organization meeting. I live in Southeast Portland and could take a turn hosting the club. Please let me know about the club.

It looks like Clark who started this post has not paid attention to it since October of last year. Maybe the more recent post people should take the reins and get things rolling. I've already tried to get involved with one of these last year and it never got going. I don't want that to happen again.
Meeting at a restaurant sounds like a good idea. The middle of March would be good, but maybe not on St. Patrick's Day, too many other fun things to do that day.
Hope we can all figure things out soon and get to the good food.

This is really frustrating because Cooking Light's program will not let me delete this posting. This gives false information out that I am still trying to organize the Portland group. I gave it over to someone else last month. I have actively tried to organize the group but due to conflicts in schedules or lack of responses all planned meetings were canceled due too low attendance. I have tried repeatedly to remove this posting but I have found it impossible to do so. Good luck on getting the first meeting off the ground.

Thank you Clark for letting us know what was happening. I didn't know anyone was really organizing anything since I hadn't heard from anyone. I was looking to the board for new info and assumed(which is not always a good idea)that since there were not any new posts from you that you had let it go. Thanks for originating this and your other efforts to get a meeting together.

Hi everyone. I've kind of taken over trying to get us organzied and have gotten e-mails from quite a lot of people. Looks like everyone agrees that a Saturday night will be the best night. I've had quite a few suggestions for March 24th to meet at a restaurant. If everyone could e-mail me back with rsvp's by March 17th and suggestions for restaurants then I will compile a list and send it to everyone. See you all soon!

We are unable to attend, due to a health issue, on the 24th, howabout the 30th?

I just caught up with all the interest here in PDX!
The question I have is: Have you met and is there room for another couple?
We live in the North area and week-ends, or evenings would work best for us.
I am anxiously awaiting to hear if there's still room to join in on the cooking adventures.

I also would be interested in joining. Is there still room in the Portland Club? I work in Salem so it would not be a problem to head up to Portland over the summer for get-togethers.
