The recipe is in the "favorite convenience items" post started by lindrusso. It is near the end. The sauce only has a few ingredients - Italian-style canned tomatoes, tomato paste, garlic, balsamic vinegar and fresh basil and/or oregano. If you still can't find it, I'll copy and post it for you. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Laden, thank you thank you for the pasta sauce recipe!! I tried it the other night and it was a fabulous success, not to mention the easiest pasta sauce I have ever made. I was impressed; my fiance is SOOO picky about tomato/spaghetti sauce. He will only eat Prego, unless I am sneaky and hide the jar when I want to use something else! He loved it, and even admitted he was skeptical when he first saw it on the stove. He loves my cooking for the most part, but nothing comes between him and his Prego http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif. The only thing I changed was I added 1/2 of a large Vidalia onion and a hot chili pepper from my garden. This one will definitely become a staple in our house!

Shelly, I may have copied this, but I don't have it with Laden's name. Can you tell me where it was or what it was called so I can see. I like to check out anything that gets raves. Thanks.

I'll jump in here with the recipe, because I did find it after a little searching last week.

1 Tablespoon minced garlic from jar
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 large can tomatoes, undrained
2 Tablespoons tomato paste
2 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar

Saute garlic in olive oil. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, and balsamic vinegar. Serve over pasta. Top with 1/4 cup fresh chopped basil, parsley, or oregano.

Hi- I think someone has answered this question before, but I am technically- challenged, so could someone tell me how to print recipes off these posts without printing the entire thread? Thanks and sorry if this is repeat info.

Anna, I see you have aol. All you do is highlight what you want printed by clicking and dragging, then hit your "Print" button at the top of the screen. You will get another little box. On the left side of that box you will see the section titled "Print Range". If you click "Selection", your printer will print only what you've "selected" (i.e., highlighted). Hope this helps you! I use this feature ALL THE TIME!! Be careful though, soon enough you will find you have a stack of recipes to try that is a mile high!!! Have fun.

A quick way to print is to "copy" the recipe to a wordprocessing program, and then print from there.

DIRECTIONS FOR MOST PC's:

1) Highlight the text you wish to copy.
2) Press Control/C (at the same time) to copy the information to your clipboard.
3) Go into the word processing program from which you want to print -- open an empty document (or "new" document"
4) Press Control/V to "paste" the text you copied onto the screen.
5) Print as usual.

Yea! It worked! I wish I'd asked you all sooner because I've printed NUMEROUS entire threads in order to take one recipe home, only adding wasted paper to my ever growing stacks! Thank you very much for the quick response - this is such a great board!

How big a can of tomatoes? 28 oz?? I'm a fairly new cook, so I get nervous to try recipes that do not have specific measurements and I really want to try this!!!

CrystalB, I'm guessing the 28-ounce can of tomatoes, given the amount of tomato sauce and the "large can" instruction. Remember, with pasta sauce, if you get too much of one thing, you can always compensate with a little extra spice to fix it. In other words . . . don't worry, be happy! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/tongue.gif
