These were very very good, nice blend of spicy, sweet and tangy. The DH grilled them, which made them even better. Served them with Chai-Spiced Winter Squash Puree andb]Romaine Salad with Oranges, Feta and Beans. Bothe of these were very good too.
I have these earmarked in my issue to try, thanks for your review, I can't wait to try the recipe now!

We had these last night and really liked them. I thought the chicken thighs I had were really big so I only used six. Boy did that make them spicy! :o I'll make them again -they were so easy!- but definitely use the eight thighs. I also noticed a really strong cumin flavor which I wasn't too crazy for, so I'll decrease that a little next time.
Another positive vote for these. They may have been better if I hadn't upended the broiler pan while taking them out of the oven. The juices made a wonderful mess on the oven floor and set off the smoke alarm. Fortunately, the thighs didn't fall on the floor.

I must have skipped over these when looking through the magazine- thanks for the heads up! They sound like they'd be right up DBF's alley.

These were yummy, but I had broiler and smoke alarm issues as well.
It occurred to me these would be just as tasty with less stress made on the grill.
I served them with steamed broccoli and cauliflower served with a yogurt/lemon juice/Penzey's fox point seasoning sauce, and potatoes roasted with olive oil, garlic salt, and pepper. It was a very filling, tasty meal.
BTW, I halved the recipe with no problem.

Another thumbs up! I also grilled them. I used bone-in thighs and reduced the cayenne to 1/8 tsp. because of the kids. I couldn't taste any "spice" at all so will use more next time.

Just finished a dinner of these, baked potato, and steamed broccoli. They looked just like the picture :) I liked these, but the cumin taste was a little strong for me. I think I might adapt the idea though. There is just something about the boneless skinless chicken thigh--very juicy and tasty. No smoke issues, although I did lower the broiler pan a notch because of the other reviews.

We had these last week and liked them pretty well. The cumin taste was a bit strong, I agree. I also think I was too generous with the red pepper.

We had these last night for dinner and both really enjoyed them! I had DH grill them, much easier IMHO. I served them with a tossed green salad and my weak attempt at sweet potato oven fries. They weren't fry like, but good anyway.
A good and easy weeknight dinner! I'll definitely make them again.

Thanks for the tip -- we're enjoying unseasonably warm weather and these are on my menu as well. I think I'll grill them this weekend! :)
I made these last night for dinner, I had on hand bone-in with skin chicken thighs and I threw a couple chicken legs in for my daughter. This was a very quick and tasty dinner, I loved the spices along with the sweet glaze, we will definitely make these again and when grilling season begins too! I cooked mine in the oven.

Okay, I lied. We won't be grilling these this weekend because I made them in the broiler last night. (No smoke alarm! :p ) Very easy, very good. I did halve the cumin according to the comments above.
Also, I used bone-in thighs (skinless) and found the necessary broiling time to be nearly twice what the recipe called for. Might be the bones, might be my broiler...but I thought I'd mention it. :D

Would this work on a whole chicken, roasted in the oven or perhaps barbecued?

This was one of the first recipes in the issue I made and we loved it. I had the smoke alarm thing going on so next time I will grill them. I thought the spices were just right, but we can handle a lot of spice and heat in our food at our house. I made these with a mango salsa and couscous, yummy!

I think the spice mixture would be very good rubbed under the skin of a whole chicken prior to roasting. Good idea!

I made these on the grill last week and we really liked them. DH kept commenting on how good they were. I didn't put too much pepper on b/c of our toddler son. I used the leftover thighs in homemade chicken noodle soup last night and what a hit! It gave the soup such wonderful flavor!! We'll make these again for sure.

We had this tonight with CL's Lemon Herb Orzo and some steamed veggies. What a great meal! We LOVED it, the chicken had great flavor and the meat was so tender and juicy. This was my first foray into using boneless skinless thighs and I will definitely be trying more recipes using them.

I just made these tonight, in the broiler, with no smoke alarm issues. They were REALLY good. I used Penzey's smoked paprika for the paprika and Penzey's chipotle pepper for the red pepper. Just the right amount of spice, IMO.
Unfortunately, Mr. Perdue doesn't debone his chicken thighs, so I had to do that part myself, and I was definitely not happy. But they cooked up so quickly, I forgave him.
No one else is home at the moment, but I'll feed these to the family tomorrow night for dinner. Hopefully they'll like them as well.

We also loved this recipe. I grilled it and served it over jasmine rice with a warm side of the honey vinegar mixture for drizzling. I only used a 1/4 tsp. of cayenne and half the cumin in the recipe. I thought it had just the right amount of heat.

Bumping....I found boneless chicken thighs on sale today!!! woo hoo! I finally get to make this, but I'd rather bake them than broil them. Any suggestions on what temperature and how for how long?
