I cannot believe (ok, yes I can) that Sanjaya is still here! Although I see how the teeny boppers would think Sanjaya is so cute, so he may be here a few more weeks. Nick, I agreed, good voice, but BORING. I'm liking Chris Sligh a lot right now.

I was happy with girl choices, it could have been any number of them that could have gone. Next up to go: Haley and Antonella. (Please).

Oh and Kellie Pickler? OMG. She looks TERRIBLE with that hair cut and those new boobs. She looks frumpy! I about died when Ryan kept asking what she bought with her money. Not a good transformation.

The guys that left last night really surprised me. Not what I was expecting (or hoping). There are only a few of the women singers that I really like, so the ones that left last night were just fine with me.

I totally agree about Kellie!! Who is her stylist? He/she needs to be fired - NOW! :eek: Her song is so sweet - I saw her perform it on a talk show a few weeks ago - she had a hard time singing it without crying - it's about her mom. :(

Yes, Sanjaya needs to go - but at least he knows it. ;)

I still haven't seen the boys' performances yet - my son has Tae Kwon Do every Tuesday night and it's hard to go back and watch when it's on so many nights a week! I'll try to catch up this weekend.....

Leslie was the one I wanted to go! I mixed her up with Haley. Her version of "Feeling Good" -- the way she mugged to the camera -- really annoyed me.
Anyhow, it feels like there a few stellar singers, mostly women, and everyone else doesn't really register. The ones I liked were safe, so I'm content.
BTW Simon seems to be more constructive to the contestants this year, not unnecessarily as he has been in the past.

I think it's the mom vote, rather that the teeny boppers. Wouldn't surprise me if he has similar fans to Clay Aiken. I truly believe that Sanjaya is talented but he's just too young, timid, and not making good song decisions. If he doesn't lift his game next week, he deserves to go for sure.

Okay, so maybe I'm just stupid and granted, I did fast forward through a lot of last night's show due to time constraints, but I missed the boob thing. DBF commented that he thought she looked a little chunky in that dress and I just assumed the cleavage was due to the dress, a little weight gain and a really good push up bra. A shame that such a pretty girl is dressing like that - way too overdone. Surely her appeal was her freshness and naivety.

I felt really sorry for Leslie. She knew she was at risk and she deserved to go soon but Antonella should have gone before her.

I was so sorry to see what she has done to herself. With her curly hair and monstrous cleavage I thought maybe she was going for the Dolly Parton look. I really liked the song she sang but I could only enjoy it if I wasn't looking at her at the same time. She has totally lost the wholesome, small town girl appearance that was so appealing (IMO) in the last season.

As for the results, I was extremely disappointed that Sanjaya didn't go home. He really doesn't stand a chance in the competition and I think even he knows it. I appreciated that the judges kept saying that this is a "singing" competition. I hate it when it seems that other factors are keeping a contestant around.

I always love to see the contestants perform in the group song because they really seem to relax and enjoy themselves. I guess it is much easier when there is no fear of harsh criticism.

Yah, the whole exchange with Ryan about the sushi spider was so contrived. I felt sorry for her.

I think this year it's a little harder to see some of them go, because they all seem so nice! Like Nick - he definitely wouldn't win, but what a genuine nice guy. Same with AJ.

Felt bad for Alaina and her not being able to get through her song. Another one who wouldn't win, but that doesn't make it easier. Leslie definitely looked shocked - Antonella better be next. ;)

And Sundance - who knew he was such a softie?

They really seem a lot closer to each other compared to other AI groups. I think they did a great job with the group song, but not everyone got solos (i.e., Phil and a few others).

Yup, the whole Kelly thing was awaful. A Dolly Parton meets Marilyn Monroe look! Don't know if the hair was a wig. The hair style was definitely meant for an older woman and/or one who lived in the forties. Dress was too tight. And I think it was a boob job---seemed more than just a push up bra.
Her face seemed different too. With all this "work" and artifice, it was just too much having her still play the country bumpkin. I could maybe believe it when she was fresh from the country, but with so much money and many more opportunities and worldly exposure, it just doesn't ring true. Distracted me from her singing (I don't like country, but I think her voice is okay).

If Antonella or Sanjaya win, I don't think I can watch AI next year! I know that I don't know much about the technical aspects of singing or about contemporary music, but I think I can see how Melinda is a true singer and Antonella and Sanjaya just play at singing and get by on their looks (I can't say charisma, because I don't think either has it).

I find it interesting that Melinda, who actually supports hesrelf by singing and whom more celebrated singers hire to back them up, is so much more humble than Antonella who looks incredulous if anyone suggests that her flat way of "singing" isn't the best.

Think Simon has much better behaved. Just staying "remember this is a singing competition" instead of outright saying that Antonell and Sanjaya should have been off this week. Also, when LaKeisha was being critiqued, he was carefull not to bring up her weight as he did last year with Mandisa and didn't say stuff like her skirt was unflattering short---instead, he just said that orange was a loud color.

The only thing good about Antonella not getting kicked off this week was that I didn't have to listen to her sing that song again! :eek: :p She so needs to go.

Ugh - I competely agree about Kellie looking awful...her voice sounded nice - but why the old/indecent transformation? I saw her co-host on the View a couple weeks ago and she did not look like that. I'm glad Carrie Underwood is making a good name for herself and for being a good role model for girls. She didn't have to get implants to win awards with her music!

Sanjaya and Antonella must go next week. I'll have to start voting if they don't....:)
