I have a friend of a friend who keeps a spreadsheet of sorts on her computer with EVERYTHING she usually gets at the grocery store, organized by aisle!! She just clicks what she needs, prints that out and goes. I'd love this---without having to do the work of typing everything in....does anyone have something like this they would be willing the share/email to me? There are some online but you can't add/delete items that don't ever pertain to you and I don't think it'll print out just the checked items, leaving a lot of wasted printing, etc. Just a thought, I'd love if someone could help me out.

Thanks!
elizabeth

You can try the download Gumbeaux has provided or maybe even asking the friend if they can ask their friend for a copy of the file?

I keep a template in MS Word on my computer, but it's specific to my store.

The template only lists the aisles and then each time I go, I type in what I need in each aisle. It works better for me than those long lists with every conceivable product on them.

Also, I keep a magnetized pad on the fridge, where we all write down things we've run out of or we need, and I transfer that info to the list, too.

Every week, I go online and check out PUBLIX's weekly sale ad. While reading the ads I can also click and add that item to my shopping list they provide. When through, I can just print it out. They list the price of each item. Then I just write in a few staples that I need. Maybe your store has the same thing.

This is a great idea-thanks for sharing cookieee. I went to my store's web site (I wasn't even sure they would have one- they do) but they don't have this feature. :(
I shop at Shoppers Food Warehouse but now I'm wondering if Whole Foods has one- I buy most of my greens there.

Your welcome, sorry your store doesn't have that feature. It would be nice if they all did. It does make life a little easier:D Anybody else have stores that do have this feature, please let us know. Thanks

I just checked and Wegmans has this feature too. I just signed up. I think I'll give it a try this week.............

ETA - You can't add flyer items to your list, but Wegmans doesn't have a big flyer anyway - they keep prices low all the time and don't run many sales.

Great- I'm hopping on over there to check it out. I plan on going later today.

I went but it seems to only do the specials which are very limited compared to a reg store. I'm glad wf is doing specials but I would love to make a whole list.

Cookieee, I did print a list of the items that are on sale- its a start! thanks again! :)

Gumbeaux, does your list have the feature or can you only print out the items that are on your shopping list to buy?

I use MasterCook, where I keep templates for groceries and for Target/Sam's. I save each template to a new name ("Groceries 3/13," for example), and check off just what I need. MasterCook prints only the checked items. The template is a good idea b/c you customize it to your store; for ex, since it'll have item location & recipe name, you can sort your list by recipe name to see what you need for your recipes, & then sort by item location so that when it prints off, all your "baking supplies" or whatever are together. This feature has halved my grocery-store time. You can also fiddle with the locations: for ex, I changed "dairy" to "1dairy" and "meats" to "2meats," etc., so that these cold items always sort to one end of my list so that I can easily pick them up last.

If you get MasterCook, I'd be happy to send you my templates if they'd help, or it might be easy to create your own with your own store-specific info or personal preferences.

i use macgourmet and for weeks that i'm really on top of things, i'll select the recipes that i want to make for the week and choose "create new shopping list from selection" and it makes a list based on the ingredients from each recipe that you're planning to make. then i delete the stuff i already have, add other items that i need that aren't for those recipes, and add the aisle that each item is in and sort by that, so that everything is grouped together. it's been a HUGE headache-saver when i'm at the store.
