I'm sitting here at work reading through the BB (since I couldn't get on from home last night) eating romaine lettuce with a wonderful sesame ginger vinaigrette dressing that I got from Schlotzsky's Deli for lunch. The dressing is fantastic! However, 1 serving has 15 grams of fat http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/eek.gif !

Does anyone have a recipe for a light version of something like this? It's got oil, water, sugar, soy sauce, salt, ginger, sesame seeds, garlic spices, and all sorts of preservatives that I cannot pronounce. I guess I could experiment to come up with something similar, however, it would be helpful to have a recipe as a base to start with.

Here's one. I'm certain you can cut the oil to lighten it.

GINGER SESAME DRESSING

5 tablespoons rice vinegar
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon dried hot pepper flakes
3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon Five Spice powder
1/4 cup sesame oil

In large bowl, combine vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sugar, pepper flakes, mustard and Five Spice powder. Whisk in oil.

Thank you so much, Lorilei! This recipe is already lighter than the one I had today. I put it into MC and estimated 6 servings. With that it only has 9 grams of fat per serving instead of 15. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

I'm going to make this really soon.
