At the gym I go to, there are a couple of "half ball" things that sit on the floor. They look like someone cut a large ball in half. What are these used for? I haven't seen anyone using them yet and am curious.

It sounds like a bosu balance trainer.
You can use them for lots of different things, but in general they are used to incorporate balance into a fitness routine, which also, I think, forces you to engage your core. I use it with the ball side up for many of the same sorts of exercises you would do on a stability ball. Also for some more cardio-type exercises, like jump-squats. With the ball side down, you can change up old standards like lunges and push ups by incorporating balance elements.

We stand on them and do squats, etc. Great for the core! :p

Dumb question....but are squats basically bending at the knees?:o If so, I could probably manage that but after two c-sections I don't really have a "core" any more. :eek:
