I'm new to the St Louis Area and think that a supper club, either joing one or starting one would be a great way to meet people with one thing in common ~ cooking, eating good food and meeting new people. If anyone knows of one already in existence or if anyone would like to start one in the area, please let me know.

WOW!! I have this weekend offf, and it would be a perfect time for us all to meet, if everyone interested can meet. what would be a central location for everyone? I live in the city and have easy access to any where.
THIS IS GONNA BE GREAT!

Depending upon where everyone else is (I am pretty far west), I was thinking somewhere in the Westport area... there are a couple places in the area that may be possibilities. Gina

How about somewhere in Clayton or the Central West End? Those should be pretty accessible to most of the metro area. If you don't already have places in mind, huttondr can probably offer suggestions since she's familiar with that area.
How convenient for everyone would Saturday a.m. be, perhaps sometime mid-morning?

Gina- you were sending while I was. No conflict here. Westport would also be fine. (I'm also west so actually it would be better for me.)

gina o made "Provisions" a suggestion on Olive. I do know there is sunday brunch there from 10-2 . How would sunday work.. say..10:30?
hope it does, I'm ready to get this started!

I have to work Sunday (rare) starting at 11:45. I could do something earlier on Sunday (does Provisions allow anything earlier than 10?)
OTher than that..in the vein of WAY more detail than any of you want, here's an availability list for the next few...
Saturday - open/available all day
Sunday - not available (unless we do something before 11:30a)
Monday - open breakfast (before 9) and lunch (any time) or between 5-6:30 (when I have platelets donation) Actually am off this day (adv of university life)
If nothing else, you 3 get together Sunday brunch without me http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif so as to get this off the ground....

alright, I'm taking the initiative. I have made reservations at Provisions Gourmet Market on Olive. Sunday @ 10:30 am. The price of the brunch is $15.95. Quite a large array of goods..everything from omlette bar, to pancake station, smoked salmon, ham, beef tenderlion, etc. If you would like to join in, call them (989-0020) and have your name added to "laura's" reservation. If you dont care to join in on brunch, come around 11:30, and we can talk then and have some coffee. I know I'll still be there!
Hope everyone can make it!! Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Sorry to say, it looks like I'm also unable to make this one. (You've gotta be pretty quick to keep up with this group.) I'll be attending (and helping with the food for) a christening celebration on Sunday at that time.

2 outta 4, huh? I suppose it's a start. Anyone up for an after work short meeting on Wednesday 1/17th? Maybe we can work with what has already been discussed (on Sunday) with input from those who couldn't do brunch? Anyone in?

also, I should say, I'm not opposed to saturday either, just have to be a little later in the day. I will not get off work until around 8am, and I'm only good for about 45 mins after I get home. I usually sleep for about 5 hours.. which would make it 1 or 2.
so whatever.. just tell me.~~but I will be at probisions on sunday either way!

As of right now, Saturday would work best for me, but Sunday is a possibility, and Monday after 10:30 am would be fine. Wednesday evening also works for me. After that, I am gone till the 25th. Gina

Wow, a great and rapid response! Meetme, you must be magic! I would be happy to organize an initial get together (I think meeting somewhere for coffee is pretty typical) unless someone else wants to be "in charge". Let me know, Gina

Wednesday night looks good. Let's hear from Jacque O....then we should be set. I work in UCity/Clayton area, and live in South City -- am open to just about anywhere for after work (5:30??ish) Wednesday. Not sure what's central for all of us. Maybe somewhere off 170? Chevy's has big tables in the bar. Open to other suggestions tho'

Jacque says "good to go" for Wednesday. How does Chevy's off 170 (Olive or Pine, I can't remember) work for a central location? I wouldn't choose it to eat there but they have big tables in the bar!
Whaddya'say?

Just waiting to hear on a time and place.... but, since I am leaving tomorrow for a week of trips, please get together without me if you can so that we can get something started. Not sure of all the details to work out as far as what the club will look like, but I am guessing a couple will be where, when, and who (significant others or not).
My next trip is from Jan 31 to Feb 4, other than that, my weekends are free until somtime toward the end of March. Gina

Hey there everyone! I haven't given up, just haven't had many opportunities to log on in the past few days.
Meetme, is this evening out for you after all or could you make it if you could choose the timing? If the latter, let us know what time and we can go from there.

Just so we have a place/time -- let's do Chevy's on Olive (just off 170) at 5:30 tonight (Wednesday).
I'll be in the bar -- I have curly red hair, wearing rust v-neck sweater and slacks.
Hope to see you all then!!

I've read with interest the postings between your group. Did you ever get together? I've been trying to get together a group in the metro-east area and we're having the same troubles finding a mutually agreeable date. I had no idea that trying to coordinate 4 people's schedules could be such a big deal! Anyway, just wondering if your group is viable in case mine never pans out.

When I was in college, my friends and I had an informal Supper Club. I would love to know more about what the St. Louis Supper Club is doing, what's involved how many people. Etc . . . . . .
