A bunch of us at work were talking about exercising. One lady mentioned in passing that she only wore her Ipod if she was listening to exercises. She thought the Ipod inhibited her work out by fiddling with earphones ect. I had never heard of Ipod exercises so I went to itunes to see if I could find some. I would love to have something that guided an interval workout or Walk away the pounds type deal, but I couldn't find anything. I found work out music with no instruction of some strange subliminal messaging stuff but no real workouts. Does anyone know what this lady was talking about. I don't know her very well and hardly ever see her to ask her about it. I don't want to wait that long! Thanks

I don't have an iPod, so can't comment on these myself, but some people just love iTrain (http://www.itrain.com/) and Cardio Coach (http://www.cardiocoach.com/).

I do the Podfitness treadmill workouts and enjoy them. You choose your own trainer, intensity, etc.

Itunes has fitpod.com and pod runner which I download from the podcast section. They're free.

I like them because they keep me on beat.

Just a little confused...if her iPod inhibits her work out, why does she listen to it only when working out? :o

Maybe she should use it only when resting and listen to some music?

Hi Angelina=
I think what she was saying was that she only uses it when the workout is actually on the Ipod- somehow directing her to run faster, do 20 sit ups, that type of thing. I think she was saying that she doesn't just listen to music or a book on tape because it is too much of a hassle to keep the headphones on, plugged in and where to put the ipod when she is just exercising on a treadmill or whatever.
I wear it running, but I am just listen to podcasts or music or books. I'm listening while I work out, but she is listening to her workout.
I didn't even know their was such a thing as an ipod workout- I thought everyone was just listening to fun stuff to pass the time while they exercise. I didnt know that they were acutally exercising to their ipod.
I will have to check out the recommendations- I will let you know what I find!

I have heard about podfitness, but never tried it. Not sure what it does.

Which podcasts you like? I think some of them are sports related. :)

If you go to the iTunes store and search "Anywhere Anytime" under album titles, you should find at least 2 mixes produced by Nike which include audio coaching. I know there are some treadmill programs as well, I believe under "Treadmill Training."
