My husband got his posting message that we are moving from Nova Scotia to Vancouver Island.

I'm excited.

I'll have a chance to maybe have coffee with some of you girls from the West Coast.

I'm moving on July 12. We just sold our house last week.

The prices of the houses down there are $100,000.00 more than here. That will be a big difference in my budget. I guess I will have to go back to work.

More to come on my move.

Have a good day, :)

That sounds great! Are you moving to Victoria or somewhere else on the island? We vacationed summer before last in Parksville and really liked it. I'd really like to visit Tofino, but don't think we'll get there before we move back to the States. I'll eat a Nanaimo bar in your honour.

Enjoy Vancouver Island! Is your husband posting to Esquimalt? Or Comox?
My parents till live on the island, so I go over to visit occasionally. So beautiful over there.

Woohoo! Congratulations! I hear ya on the house prices here. A few years ago, I got out of the housing market and now I have my doubts that I will ever get back in. I hope you find something you love! If there is anything that I can do to help, please let me know!

How exciting for you - such a lovely place to live!

Hoodone, DBF and I had a wonderful vacation in Tofino a few years back. In fact, he was looking to buy a second home there but didn't find anything he loved. Then the place went Hollywood and the prices seem to be about what they are here!

Thanks for all the nice comments :)

We are moving to Comox with the 2 boys. My DD is moving to Ottawa. She had been accepted in the journalism program at Carleton as well as Ottawa.

We are really excited. I love the Island. I got a chance to visit in the past and falled in love.

Since my DH is in the military I don't know how long we will be posted there. But we will make the most out of it.

We have a 28 ft camper, so we will do lot's of camping and in the winter we will be skiing. The 2 boys are really good and they want to take advanced ski lessons.

Hope to meet you girls on the Islands.

Great news Helene!

You will love Comox. We lived there for 8 wonderful years. The town has grown and changed so much since we left in 1990 but it is still a beautiful, friendly place. You really can ski in the morning and golf in the afternoon!
When we lived there Comox did not have a traffic light and there was a huge bush area separating Courtenay and Comox.Boy has that changed! When ever I go visit I have such mixed feelings. I drive by my daughter's preschool their fav playground, the beaches where we spent hours playing and I get very nostalgic and emotional. :o Anyyway you will love it there I think....mild winters most of the time and incredible recreational and cultural opportunites.
We must get together. I am always up for a visit up island- espcially when the farmer's market is on.

Victoria is only 3 1/2 hours away too! :) :)

You will have to come down to Seattle once you get settled too!

For sure, we will drive across the states from Nova Scotia to BC, so we will have to go to Seattle.

Can't wait.
