Hello all.
Just wanted to share two great finds (and I'm sure many of you are thinking "been there, done that," but these books, however long they have graced the bookstore shelves, are new for ME ).
I stopped at the bookstore yesterday (amazing what control a coupon has over my car). Picked up Baking From My Home to Yours by Dorie Greenspan. I read the specs on several baking books (as baking is my ultimate passion) and I was impressed with Dorie's LONG list of accolades and her experiences both professional and personal with Julia Child. The cookbook is as beautiful as it is well-written. It's more like a baking BIBLE than a cookbook. I think I will have great fun with it. I would love to hear comments from those who have it, and who have made recipes from it.
I also picked up Julie & Julia by Julie Powell. I had read the reviews for this book a while ago and it was on my wish list. I read about 50 pages so far and I commend her undying commitment to JC's French recipes. Nothing in this world--and I mean NOTHING, could get me to stuff a pigeon!
