I've done absolutely no research on this, but thought I'd ask here anyway. An acquaintance of mine says she's been taking chromium piccolonate and notices a difference in the way she feels and how her food is used. (Can you really FEEL that, I wonder?)
Anyone take this? And why? I'm curious. I need to get back on a good vitamin regimen anyway, so I thought I'd look into adding this to the mix.

This has long been used as a supplement for weight loss -- the typical claim is that it speeds metabolism. Studies done so far have shown it does not help.

It is for insulin regulation and supposedly for increased energy and weight control. I took it for about 6 months but didn't notice any significance.

Ditto, though I didn't take it for as long.

I tried it once, and after about a week I began getting dizzy spells- I had never had them before. It took me a few days to figure out that it was the chromium, and once I stopped taking it, the dizziness went away. It was scary dizzy- like I almost passed out a few times.

I would check with a doctor before taking them.

Some preliminary lab studies show it can alter cell growth...not a good thing.

If this person is using it to regulate insulin, I'd suggest cinnamon (about 1/4 tsp. a day).
For weight loss...skip the chromium p.
There's another type of chromium that shows less damage to cells.....still, I personally wouldn't take it.
