Tsunami hits Solomon Islands

I just heard on the news that a Tsunami has hit the Solomon Islands. I don't know anything more about it yet.

I'm in Australia at the moment and they were concerned that the earthquake would cause a tsunami to hit the north eastern coast of Oz. Much confusion - at one stage they issued a tsunami warning for the whole of the east coast!. They evactuated all the beaches and some buildings but the waves were only 10cm in the end. There is now a further push for the federal government to install early warning buoys to protect the coast.

Australia has pledged $2m in tsunami relief to the Solomons.
