So, I posted a thread earlier in the week, because my fiance's friend and his wife (who we found out is pregnant! :D ) is up for a long weekend visiting. Well, it was requested that I make wings, and I was having a hard time coming up with a menu to go with the wings. What we ended up having was:
Wings w/blue cheese & ranch - my recipe based on an allrecipes.com recipe
Tossed salad
Garden Turkey Burgers - CLBB zackaboo
Garlic Fries - CL
Pineapple Sorbet - CL
Wings - I've posted this recipe under a superbowl thread before. Its a recipe i got off of Allrecipes.com but I make a different sauce. this is my most requested dish from Michael's friends. And, if I do say so myself, they are better than any wings I've had at a bar. Everyone loved them again, I made them a little hotter than usual, but no one seemed to mind ;)
Tossed Salad - Michael's mom, his friend's wife and I, are the only ones who touched it. Just your normal tossed salad, but I was greatful for it, since nothing else was really all that healthy. I filled half my plate with salad, and just had a little of everything else.
Garden Turkey Burgers - I posted a request for eveyones favorate turkey burgers, and while they all looked good, these were the most generic of the recipes posted, so i went with these. They were AWESOME. I'm going to always make my normal turkey burgers like this now. They were juicy and very flavorful. We had them on WW kaiser rolls with red leaf lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles and ketchup. Some people put cheese on theirs.
Garlic Fries - holy cow. These were AWESOME. I have to admit that, i put them in the oven at 450 for 30 minutes and they were not even close to being cooked (and we used the mandolin to make thin fries, like mcdonalds thin). I think there is something wrong with my MIL's oven though. So since I had the deep fryer out for the wings, I just took em out of the oven and fried them :o I then tossed them in the butter, garlic, parsley, cheese mixture...ohmygod....they were soooooooooooooooooooo good. The best fries I have ever had.
Pineapple Sorbet - this was a wonderful light dessert to follow such a heavy meal. Everyone ejoyed it very much, it was very refreshing.
