I was up at 4 am and down to the waterfront by 5am to shoot the San Diego skyline at sunrise. I hope you enjoy these.

Breathtaking. Thank you for sharing! And for getting up sooooo early.
Hope you don't mind, I'm sending them to my DF who is a Marine Sargeant posted in Iraq. He lives in Temeculah and loves San Diego. He's scheduled to come home in two weeks!! Woohoo!!

Please feel free to send him this little bit of home. I'm glad he's over there making Temecula and the rest of the country safer. Please thank him, from me, for his service. :)
Tell him the photos were taken from the Coronado ferry landing looking towards downtown so he can get his bearings.

These are beautiful (from a fellow San Diegan). I think when you've lived here for so long, you forget just how fantastic this place is. Every once in a while you just need to walk on the beach or go to Balboa Park, or take a ride on the ferry, etc. Thanks for sharing :) Do you do prof. photog. around here?

I know exactly what you mean. It's fun to look at this place from a tourist's eye. :D
I'm not a pro, but it might be something for me to consider at some point. I'm just getting started with this new camera and learning its capabilities. I've asked the pro I took these shots with if he'd need a volunteer to help out from time to time. (No reply from him yet) Could be a good way for me to learn some things and for him to get cheap help. :D

Well, good luck with that- sounds fun! I'm having fun doing food photography! (for my site) We joke that our son is going to grow up, get married and ask his wife why she isn't photographing their meals :D

I'm big-time small-time (hee hee). I'm sure food photog's would have a hey dey critiquing (sp?) my picture-taking skills. Some of them actually turn out pretty good though. Just depends on the lighting/time of day.
Hope you get your call :)

I LOVE San Diego :)
Thanks for sharing! I'm a cloud nut, so they way you captured the low level cumulus are just as breathtaking as the skyline itself!

What great pictures! I have never been out west so it is nice to see things I am missing out on by not visiting or even having the time to visit.

Great photos. You couldn't have gotten any luckier with the cloud cover. It makes the composition so much more interesting.
I'd be tempted to order a print from you if I had any connection to San Diego whatsoever. Those are stunning!

These are great Hammster! That second one could be a postcard! I love San Diego - we took a family vacation there 2 years ago, and I can't wait to go back with the kids again.

Thanks all.
Although they aren't in order of how the sun came up, they are all as captured. Meaning I didn't fool with the colors at all. I did a minor amount of cropping, but otherwise they are as taken. Nature is pretty awesome and I agree with those who like the low cloud cover. It makes for an interesting backdrop to the skyline. Adds a bit of drama. It started sprinkling on us just as we were packing up to leave so those clouds really were menacing just a bit.

Wonderful shots, I also love San Diego. I'll be down there in June at the RnR Marathon, not running, but supporting my DH.

Wow, add a cup of coffee and those are worth waking up for! (You can tell I'm NOT a morning person.) Beautiful. You've got a great eye.
