Sadly, my prolific knitting will decrease, as senior year starts in less than a week, and I will have no more classes...both happy (less sitting on my a**) and sad (10 hours less of knitting time a week...)
Wecome Robyn;) :p
Your socks look great! I love the colors in the bottom pair. KnitPicks, right?
I wanted to get some of the top yarn (Vineyard?) and it was sold out! :(

Wecome Robyn;) :p
Smart @ss!
Thanks to the people who replied to my plea for help yesterday. So far things are going well and although I've had to fix a couple of mistakes the fixes are fine, I just need to pick up a crochet hook to make them easier. Oooh, maybe that's a lunch run for me today. ;)

The top pair is Knitpicks (vinyard/vineyard?), the bottom pair is Meilenweit Fantasy (Lana Grossa Fabre 4730/Partie14450) and the label is in the picture. DH wanted another pair of socks so I told him to buy the yarn, and that was his choosing:)

Of course! Now that you point it out I see that. Sheesh --- I don't read so good, eh????? ;)
In any case, both pairs are gorgeous, but I particularly like the colors in the bottom pair. You DH chose well. :)

Alright, here with some pictures. I still haven't finished anything, but the LYS trip with my student went really well last week. She's started a ribbed scarf. I'm still plugging away at the bolero:

And the cabeld wristwarmers for DBF:

Emily -- is that the bolero from the winter Vogue? I love it in the blue you chose!
I took some pix of various items knitted in the last couple of months. Now to get them to the computer, to imagestation, and then to you!

Emily--I really like the blue too!
HELP!!!
Knitty's Reid (http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/PATTreid.html)
I've finished the first 22 rows of a sleeve, with 41 stitches (the small size). The chart for increasing the sleeves starts with 43 stiches in the chart.
So can I not count (entirely possible) or should I have increased at the beginning of this row or is there some lace knitting thing I've missed (only done Hedera and Monkey so far)?
anyone???

I counted it, and came up with the same numbers you did, too. I'll ask my lace mentor and get back to you.
In the meantime, have you emailed the designer to ask? Her blog is listed at the end of the pattern on the knitty site.

Obviously in progress. This is a leaf and trellis stole from Victorian Lace today that a guild group is knitting as a KAL. Yarn is 100% merino (to withstand lots of frogging) laceweight.

Wow! You've been very productive.
I like the pink socks near the bottom. Very pretty!

Beautiful, Amy! What are the sock patterns?
McGeiger, sorry I can't help. It's such a cute pattern! I always file things away to make for DD and then realize that I really need to make stuff for DS, too.

Cute! I haven't attempted cables, yet. I'd have to resize that pattern--I don't seem to find as much in the little kid sizes. I'd want to make DS a size 4--assuming I could get it done by next winter! :D I actually have a felted ear-flap hat pattern for him that is in the queue. If that turns out well, the pattern also has adult sizes, so I could make DH a matching one!

Beautiful, Amy! What are the sock patterns?
Erin,
I've edited my post to show yarn and pattern info. At least when I could remember it. I've gotta start keeping a journal.
When its dry, I'll try and remember to post a picture of my Mason Dixon Absorba, which I use as a small rug before the vanity instead of as a bathmat.
OTN: the Victorian lace shawl above, a sock using the chevron pattern in Sensational knitted Socks and a BBBaby Blanket in a yarn I hate. This may go into the frog pond, be doused with gasoline and lit.
There have also been numerous baby barf towels and bibs made.
I'm currentl ogling my 1 skein of SeaSilk and deciding on a pattern. Suggestions welcome.
It is this color:

Kelly,
Here is the answer to your question. So the answer is just knit the pattern as shown and it will work out,
There are 16 yarnovers in that row, and only 14 stitches are decreased, for a net increase of 2 stitches.

Hi, I'm teaching myself to knit and doing a good job, I think. I have a question, though, about the ballband dishcloth http://www.canadianliving.com/upload/CanadianLiving/News/zdishc64295.jpgfrom Mason-Dixon Knitting. I recognize a few names on this thread from other knitting blogs so I hope someone can help.
I knitted about 8 rows yesterday to see how the pattern worked up. On rows 3, 4, 5 and 6, the instructions say to "slip 1 purlwise". As I knitted along, I found that the slipped stitch is the same stitch on each of these rows. Row 7 is knitted and Row 8 is purled. This knits in the slipped stitches. On my dishcloth, the border was pulled up at intervals where the slipped stitches were. The pictures I've seen show a flat dishcloth. I am wondering if I did something wrong, or does this pulling decrease as the dishcloth goes along?
I hope I've asked this question in language that someone can understand!!
Thanks for the help.

Well, I've had a very satisfying day of knitting. I found out this week that the baby shower is June 9th and while I highly doubt that I can get the blanket done in time but I'm giving it my best. I finished my first skein (orange) and felt like with only three more to go it wouldn't be quite enough for the size I want and the only color of the yarn that I'm not already using that makes sense in the bright color scheme while not knowing the sex is yellow but the mommy hates yellow so mcgeiger gave me an idea to use the multi color that will be used as the border to do about an inch between each solid color to add some size so today I also did an inch of the red multi-color yard and about an inch of the next solid (apple green). I'm hoping to finish this skein this week. It is so much more satisfying to see the change of colors and feel like I'm making progress. I'll try to get some pictures of the work in progress tomorrow.
I am so excited to see the finished project and give it to my friend. It is going to be a larger heavy blanket that I envision her being able to use as a drape over a carrier to protect the baby from the mountain cold. I want her back as my co-coach next season so I need to do everything I can to help her make it work. ;) :p

Just to tie up a loose end on this thread, I started a separate thread about the ballband dishcloth. My question was answered by Dee and by Kay Gardiner.
