I want to make the blueberry pound cake and it calls for a 10" tube pan. Could I use two 9" loaf pans instead?

I'd probably go for 8 inch loaf pans, if you have them, but if not, try the 9. Fill one, and if it takes more than half, try baking what's left in another small pan or muffin cups. Fill each unused muffin cup about 1/3 with water to keep them from overheating and causing uneven baking.

Thanks for the ideas. I will sure give the recipe a try - it sounds delicious.

Linda,
Your 9-inch loaf pan should work fine. Remember that a 10-inch tube pan requires a lot of batter. However, the oven temperature should remain the same, but the cooking time will vary. Good Luck.

I've always wanted to ask this ... just what exactly is a tube pan? Is it my angel food cake pan? Or a bundt pan? I have a number of recipes that called for a "tube pan" and I have used the loaf pans as suggested earlier, and also my angel food cake pan. Both with equal success. I figured it wasn't important, but I'm curious to know!

Thanks,
Kim

A tube pan and an angel food pan are basically the same. The Bundt pan has the fluted shape. They are interchangable for most recipes, but stick to straight sided pans for angel food.

I recommended 8 inch above, but I have also noticed that all loaf pans do not appear to be created equal. I double checked mine, and the ones I was thinking of are 9 inches. I just have another 9 inch pan, different manufacturer, that is slightly longer and much wider. Megaloaf!
