Our licence plates officially expired on 5/1. We sent in our check and renewal in early April, but haven't received the new stickers for them yet. The secretary of state's office cashed our check on April 25th. Yesterday, we received not one but 2 parking tickets for having expired plates.
Yes, I realize that they don't know that we've paid up and are just waiting for the stickers, but is it really necessary to ticket us twice in the same afternoon for the same offense?
Once we get the paperwork from the SOS office, I think we have a valid case for fighting them, but what a waste of time!
Police officers have better things to do with their time!
