Anybody have a Treo?

I just invested in a Treo, and had my IT person sync it with my e-mail and my calendar. He said that I wouldn't be able to access my e-mail out of the office since I did not have outside internet available. I have a data package from Verizon, and I assumed that would include the internet, and if not, how do I get outside internet for a cell phone?
