So...what are your favorite bronzer/summer products? I'm tired of the ones I've tried in the past, so thought I would try something new this summer. What are your favorite summer make-up tips/products?
What is your favorite brand of summer make-up? Do you throw away your "winter" shades (I confess that I'm bad about sorting through my make-up even though I think I read somewhere that the shelf life of the products is never as long as I seem to keep them!)

I just started using the Costco Kirkland bronzer. It has enough of a variation in it to look natural on me.

I usually just have 1 shade darker on the the foundation -- to try and equalize my base color of skin with the freckles! I use a liquid-to-powder foundation (Cover Girl) and wear minimun makeup unless I'm going out... I just don't like the mask feeling! And I'm in the water a lot.
I've never used a bronzer...

I feel safe here, so I will ask-what is a bronzer and where do I put it?? I see them in the stores but don't know how to use it and have been afraid to ask!

Isn't it funny how we feel so much more comfortable asking questions like this here? I don't use it because I am perfectly able to get rosy enough without any help, heck I rarely use blush either.

i don't use bronzer - i just try to get a little sun :)
for summer i usually just don't wear eyeliner as often (i usually wear black eyeliner) and i like wearing shimmery cream eye shadows. i found this one at sephora and love it:

the brand is Too Faced and the color is called First Base. the picture doesn't really show how shimmery it is. it's creamy and yellowy/gold with metallic flecks in it. here's a description from the site: Eye shadow insurance! First and Second Base's enriched formula helps brighten overworked eyes. First Base imparts a luminous glow and sheen to eyes with an opalescent shimmer hue while Second Base's rich, buttery lemon color helps brighten and even out uneven skin tones and creates the perfect matte canvas.
the other one i love is from avon - it's the mark winkstick hook up eye shadow stick. you can attach 2 of them together (or 1 and 1 lip gloss) and throw your favorite combo in your purse. they have a LOT of colors, and i went nuts after trying one and got like 10 of them :o

Ultra creamy eye shadow sticks that glide on smoothly and provide a lasting shimmer.

I love tinted moisturizer - it's fairly sheer, light, and most contain some form of SPF. I wear it year-round, but it's particularly appropriate for summer.

i recently purchased Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer for my summer "foundation". it has an spf in it and I LOVE IT!! it feels so light on my skin and not oily at all in the heat. i even mowed the lawn yesterday around 5:00 PM in 85 degrees and my makeup looked perfect (even though i was sweaty and disgusting) afterwards!
i am a huge fan of all products by Bobbi Brown - i have never had a problem with anything by her making me break out. my skin is pretty sensitive and i am a verry loyal consumer.
however, i am currently using some bronzer by Bare Escentuals (i got the today's special value on qvc a couple weeks back that came with the fake tanner). i really like the BE products... they feel great on my skin. i try to avoid getting real sun on my skin, so i basically put bronzer whereever the sun would naturally hit me - my cheekbones, nose, chin, etc.

you can go to www.qvc.com and plug in this item number to see the BE stuff: Item Number A10952

I think bronzer is a powder that, like Josie said, you put on your cheeks, nose, forehead - wherever the sun would naturally hit it. It is not like a self-tan lotion, which I have been leary to try since I tried it back when they were first introduced and had to deal with streaks.
The last bronzer I tried I felt made me look to "orange" - it was a prescriptive brand. Josie - let us know know what you think of the color of the BE bronzer.
I also am a big fan of the Bobbi Brown products.

the BE bronzer (i think it is called faux tan all over face color) is very nice. i think it is a forgiving color that could be used on most skin tones. it is not orange at all - rather a deep terra cotta brown color. i apply very lightly again and again until i get the right deepness. i, too, am afraid of over-applying and looking orange :)
the big daddy faux tan self tanner that came from BE is very nice. i tend to be allergic to the cheaper brands which is why i decided to try the BE stuff. so far, i have been very happy with the color. my first coat was a tiny bit streaky, but it is pretty easy to apply since it is a dark gel - you see where the color is going. my biggest problem is that my house is warm and humid, so it takes forever to dry on my skin. i think i will keep all the BE bronzed babe items that i ordered from qvc. it is the best i have tried thus far. of course, as you can tell, i am maybe a little too interested in make up so i am always open to suggestions ;) :p :D
Bobbi Brown also has some very nice bronzers - and the great part about them is you can go into the store and try before you buy. i love my make up chick at the Bobbi Brown counter at Nordstroms. we have established quite a relationship over make up :)

Alas, I got "hooked" on Bobbi Brown's make-up when I lived in Denver and had too easy of access to Nordstroms. :D Now that I'm in the middle of the plains, there are no stores that carry Bobbi Brown's products here, so I order them directly through her website.
I used to be more of a make-up "junkie" - loved to try new things and it was a fun way to spend an hour or so at Nordstroms while DH babysat the kids...but now, it is not nearly as easy to try new things, so looking for T&T suggestions and not the editor picks from magazines - I swear I think that get kick-backs.
