View Full Version : the day has finally come!
the movers come tomorrow to pack us up. we are going to be in a temporary, furnished house for a month, then off to San Francsico! still don't have a place there but hopefully by this time next week I will.
I just can't believe we are almost out of here.
we sold our house in this horrible Cleveland market in 6 weeks for 95% of the asking price because there was someone out there who loved our house just as much as we do. (And it helped that she is from out of town!! :p )
I don't think we will have internet access at our temporary house = we will find out tomorrow or Friday. That will be torture. But we will be with in walking distance of the main library so I will probably go there once a day.
wish us luck! this is going to be a pretty hectic month - all this moving with a 21 month old. yikes

Congratulations on your house sale, Meg, and good luck with the move tomorrow! I tink it is always exciting to move, even if a little scary. It is the start of a new adventure and all kinds of possibilities.
I would think it is actually a good thing that you have a month in between the packing up and the settling in, especially since the place you are staying is furnished. It will give you (and your little one) a chance to catch your breath.
Take care, and I hope your place DOES have internet access! :D

Congrats on the sale of the house, and good luck!
Don't forget, I'm glad to help in any way I can while you're out here. :)

Good luck to you Meg! Hope the little one does well on through the transition.
I am in a similar boat, only I am the one packing up. DH has gone on ahead of me and is in KC, MO living in a hotel for the next few weeks while we wait for another tenent to move out of the house we will be renting. I am left behind to pack the Knoxville house. We don't have the exact date yet for our move, but expect to be U-hauling it across 4 states Memorial Day wkend. UGH. No toddlers in our clan though. Just 2 grown up people & 2 lazy dags.
Kathy B is more optimistic than I am, I guess. I pity you the limbo of a temporary house. Hope you take it more as the break Kathy sees it as.
Hope you love Frisco, it's beauitful there! Cannice turned me onto their radio station, KFOG, which I still listen to online. Check it out if you like a good rock mix of old & new.
Thanks for the well wishes everyone.
there is internet at the temporary house. we went over and unloaded a bunch of dry goods and will empty out the fridge tonight. DH just took the cats and their accessories over there.
I really am not looking forward to the 2 moves b/c my life isn't going to relax at all - I am the one that is going apt hunting in SF and DH and DS are staying behind. It will be fun, though.
Thanks for the radio station tip!

Meg,
Good luck with the moves! Is the temp housing in OH too? And great news about selling your house!
yes the temp house is just about a mile away from us.
I can't believe how lucky we got on selling this house. But there are a lot of wonderful things about this house, but still.... this market is rough in Cleveland.
Ok, moving day is today. at somepoint the movers will come and we will be gone.:(
