Red Dot Instead of Flame Folder

Okay I just stopped in for a quick peek and noticed that the "flaming folders" are now replace with a red solid circle. Is it just my eyes or what. Things are awfully strange around here. DooDooDooDoo I think that Lorilei's monkey is causing all of this!!! Hehe. BTW, Great Job Lorilei!!

BarbaraL- I know the flaming folders were fun but I also am willing to sacrifice them for a faster download - considering I am on these boards hours and hours every day - it's been a blessing to me so far!

I agree. I'd rather have red dots and speed than fun flaming folders and slowness! But, I was wondering, is there a way to get a "still picture" of the flaming folder? I'm assuming that the annimation of the flame was the problem(?) I know it wouldn't be as fun as the real flaming folder, but the idea would still be there....just a thought.... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif

Yes, anything is possible. On the tech support board, I've asked for suggestions (RunnerKim suggested a jalapeno - great idea!) on what that icon should be. If you have any more, just let me know!

yes, lorilei. a still icon would probably take up less memory than an animated one. So I would probably want to stick with static ones.

By the way, Maelynn, the startup loading speed of the board is much better now on my speed-crippled home modem (I'm embarrassed to say how slow). But oddly enough, individual messages seem to be loading more slowly. Or am I imagining things? http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/confused.gif

Maelynn I really like the jalapeno, too. Considering this is a food board it fits right in. The ice cream cone does, too. I also like the page 1 and 2. Ohioan I find the individual posts loaded slower today, too. But then I also keep getting knocked off line all of the time so I wasn't sure if it was just me. Maelyn I like the changes though, thanks for putting so much energy and creativity into this board, we really appreciate it.

Hello. Mamasue - it's my doing this time. I've made some changes to the boards which I have detailed in an announcement at the top of the forum page where all of the topics are listed.

The animated flaming folders were taken out to speed up download.

There have been other changes as well. Hope they help.
