shredded beet question

I have a recipe that includes shredding beets. Will this stain my food processor? Thanks!

Beets should not stain your food processor. However, beets are a natural food dye and will definitely stain your hands. You can wear kitchen gloves when handling beets or clean your hands by rubbing them with wet salt and lemon juice.

I don't find that they stain my hands. My hands get red when I'm working with them, but it washes right off.

are the beets cooked when you shred them? i would be curious if a food processor could successfully shred raw beets. i wonder... they just seem so hard!
