Official Introduction

Hi Everyone,

As this is the first BB I have ever participated in, I wasn't sure of "introduction ettiquette" and how to get started and I've seen several introductions by newbies, so I figure now, better late than never.

My name is Jessica and I'm 27 yrs old, just moved to NC from NJ in January. I'm a Culinary School graduate and worked as a baker and a caterer for a catering company for several years. Currently not baking for work :( but still in the food industry working for a catering company as the "banquet person." Not nearly as much fun as baking!

I've been enjoying these boards immensely, and I hope my participation is helpful and enjoyed by others. You all seem like a great bunch! Oh, and how can I forget to mention that I'm a huge fan of CL!!!

Welcome, Jess! There are a few culinary students on this board, and a lot of us just like to dabble in desserts.

I'm from Raleigh, NC, but grew up in Atlantic Beach. My mom lives in Raleigh now, and my dad lives outside of Greenville, NC. My husband is in computers, and he has a job interview in Raleigh very soon--we are hoping to move back South as soon as we can.

I just took a group of school children there on a field trip. They loved it! The day was perfect, overcast and just warm enough!

I've been to the zoo several times since I've been here - I've even bought a season pass. It's the nicest zoo I've ever been to. I've been to look at the animals and I've been just to exercise. It's a great place to walk around when it's not crowded. They just opened the Kidzone not too long ago - so that will be something fun for your son also.
