Someone let the air out of all of the front tires of the school buses at the compound. Luckily I keep mine at home, but all of the other drivers had to report to work to find this out.

I can't help but wonder if it was a Senior Prank. They try to do something every year. Usually, they get caught.

Kind of funny, but kind of not.......... :)

Enjoy the delay. :)

When I saw your post, I was wondering what kind of delay you'd be having this time of year. Of course if you lived in Indiana, it could be a fog delay......

Sounds like one of the more harmless senior pranks, although whoever had to air up the tires probably muttered under their breath a lot!

That just happened in the next town over, and it was indeed a senior prank. The students involved were caught and banned from their prom and other senior activities- not a fun way to end the school year.

They are always caught. They can't keep their mouths shut.

For the senior prank at my high school, some of the kids listed our principals truck in the classified for sale at a ridiculous price and put the school's number on it. Believe it or not, a couple of the teachers actually called about it because they didn't recognize the school's number! How's that for a good education?!?

A group of seniors my graduating year were so stupid and cruel that I couldn't even believe it. These are guys I grew up with! <sigh> They either killed or found a pre-killed beaver and put it in either a freshman girl's car or in her school locker on a Friday afternoon right before school was out (this was 28 years ago--I've forgotten the fine points). In late May. In Texas. Astounding. It was too late to miss the prom, but they missed Baccalaureate and graduation. Those boys came from some of the most prominent families in our little town, and the families were absolutely devastated. At least they didn't try to buy the boys' way out of the mess. And that poor girl...she never did anything to warrant such a horrible "joke."

Sounds like they had an awful lot of time or an awful lot of people to let all the air out!!!!!!! At least they didn't slash the tires, gotta give the seniors credit for that. Noone got hurt and they all got a delay, they probably thought school would get cancelled and not just delayed. Let the summer begin! Debbie

I think it is a prank because nothing was slashed. There were several cars on the lot (mine included) and they didn't bother with the cars.

They called a tire company up there to fill the tires. Several drivers drive for 30 minutes, distant part of the county. they stayed, I came home and went to bed. I got an extra hour and a half sleep.

It was kind of comical to look at that long line of buses and see all of those flat tires. Someone was busy. And I heard through the grapevine that someone left the gate unlocked. I guess we will get a memo about that.

Since it didn't affect you - it was just a harmless senior prank? If the air had been let out of your front tires and you had an important business meeting to go to -- how would you have felt? How could the school possibly have notifed all of those students, waiting at their bus stops, about the delay. The students all waited while jmarie was able to get an extra 1 1/2 hours sleep? !!!! Sorry: Just my vent.

Not to mention the cost to the district to have someone come out and repair all the vehicles, and the parents who had to make arrangements because their kiddos were home for an extra 2 hours. We've had a string of bomb threats in my district in the past month, and it's amazing the impact that has.

Compared to many other senior pranks, including vandalism of schools and cases of cruelty to the younger students in school, this is absolutely one of the more harmless ones. Nothing was permanently damaged. The seniors in my town usually just pick a day toward the end of the year and skip school and go to the lake, but I've heard some horror stories.

A few years before I graduated, one of the local boy's school's senior pranks was to dismantle a VW bug and reassemble it in the school library. They then put manequins in a compromising position in the back seat (wearing enough clothing to indicate that they were a nun and a priest.)

The Jesuits weren't pleased.

A few years before that, someone stole a copy of the school letterhead and sent a letter to all parents of juniors and seniors stating that the school was aware that most kids were going to be drinking and having sex after prom, so the post prom party was going to be a kegger with a condom machine readily available.

Once again, displeased Jesuits!
