Hi everyone,
So, I moved about a month ago. And it's been chaos. Not much cooking, end of the school year drama (I'm a teacher) and just getting through the weeks has been challenge enough. I've FINALLY gotten myself organized enough to take a few pictures of my new apartment. If you'd like to see them, they're on my blog (hence the self promotion part) and can be found here http://talesfromaveggiekitchen.blogspot.com/2007/06/new-digs.html.
I'm just LOVING the new apartment - now we just need to muster the energy to tackle the home office (the last holdout of chaos in an otherwise getting settled apartment). Must soldier on!
:)

It looks like a great place! I love the patio! How often does an apartment have an outdoor area that big? I love to grill, be outside, play outside - so that would be attractive to me. I hope you really enjoy it!

Great looking apartment! I agree that your outdoor space is wonderful.
Nice place! Really great. You cannot tell you've been there only a short time. It looks so pulled together. I'm jealous. I'd love to have an elliptical trainer at home. :D

Heather -
Great place! Outdoor space is such a luxury in the city. I was forced to spend hours on my stoop when I lived in Brooklyn.

Your dining area is fabulous! Very classy, yet modern. Love it! Feel free to invite me over for a dinner party anytime ;)
Good luck getting settled in!

Really nice! How lucky you are to have a great place AND live in NY!
I also like your blog. Did the orange kitty move with you as well? (I'm partial to them---have one of my own names Tang.)

Thanks you all! Thank you for all appreciating our hard work... it sure has taken a lot of effort.
EllenL - yes, Helios came with us. I actually have a picture of him lounging on the dining room table that will be appearing someday soon. He's had a rough transition, it has taken him several weeks to adapt but I think we're doing better now (although the getting me up to play at 1am trick he pulled the other night has GOT to go!).
Cumulus - You're invited anytime! :)
Barbara - Where in Carroll Gardens were you? I think we've moved much closer to your old neighborhood....
Tkay - I'm thrilled to have my own elliptical. I think it was almost exciting as the move.
Sneezles and Misskitty - thanks for the kind comments. :)
TerriA - We moved with outdoor space in mind. Initially I was disappointed not to have grass, but now I think the cement will be a little bit easier to keep up. Less to mow and all... but I do think (if I may say so myself) that we've scored an outdoor space on the nicer side of the ones out there (and I did see a few).

Really nice pics!! You are so lucky to have such a nice outdoor area. One of my best friends lives in Brooklyn and I just don't get there enough.

What a great place, and you look pretty settled after only a month! I thought I was looking at a Catalog Shoot! Very nice. I LOVE your framed prints in the dining room. Enjoy your new spaces, both indoor and out!

I really wanted to look at your pictures, but unfortunately (at work) when I click on them, I get the message that this site is blocked because it falls under the forbidden category of "pornography"!! :D :D

Your apartment looks great -- I'm jealous of your workout room. Maybe in our new house...
I do have a question -- do you mind sending me a PM with where you got the rug in your living room? Our new couches are the same color and I've been looking for something similar.
TIA,
Melissa

Thanks again all.....
And for all those commending how unpacked we are... if you could see the home office I'm sitting in now. Or what will be the home office one day!
Melisd - the rug came from Crate and Barrel, but not recently. Two years ago maybe? I hope you can still find it....
