VHS tapes to DVD?

Has anyone transfered VHS tapes to DVDs? We have a bunch of tapes (from our wedding, honeymoon, kids when they were little) and no VCR to play them on anymore. We were thinking it would be great to get them onto DVDs. How do you do this, or have you used a service you can recommend? Thanks.

I have a dual VHS-DVD player that will dub in either direction (assuming there aren't copyright protections on the source material--so you'd be fine wiht your home tapes). I bought it reconditioned about a year ago and it was around $200. If you don't want to buy one, I bet if you ask around, someone you know has one and you could probably bribe, barter or pay them to convert your tapes.

When I was printing pictures at Target I saw that they have a service to tranfer VHS to DVD. There was a pamphlet near the photo station.
