We're planning a July trip to Utah. Your recent pictures of your Utah trip inspired me to go there. Just checked the temps there today and it looks like it will be high 90s by the end of the week. July temps most likely will be warmr than that. A couple of years ago we went to Sedona, AZ in mid-July and although it was hot (90s and above), the humdity was low, so we were not uncomfortable hiking. We had a great time.

We're planning to fly into Las Vegas, rent a car, then drive towards Zion National Park. Can you please give me some tips on where you stay, your favorite hikes, etc. My husband and I hiked quite a bit in Sedona, so we're looking forward to it.

Thanks!

We stayed at the Desert Pearl Inn in Springdale. I don't know the price since it was included in the trip price. Amazing place. Pool, spa, great rooms, nice grounds. From the Pearl you can ride a (free) town shuttle to the entrance at Zion. In Zion they have shuttles (free) that take you to 9 different stops in the park. July huh? It'll likely be well into the 100s maybe even close to 110 when you are there. Whew.
You must do the Angel's Landing hike if you are up for it. Very difficult and quite scary as about the last half mile is on a very narrow ridge with chain assist.
Watchman trail is a good one as is Emerald Pool trail.
An amazing hike, and not as hot, is Echo Canyon. You start out on the Observation Point trail and hook up to the Echo Canyon trail. That was a beautiful hike.
HTH. :)

Thanks. It's been a busy week and I appreciate your reply. We are thinking that we just might have to visit Utah at another time of year. July will probably been way too hot!

Now we are thinking about Lake Tahoe!
