I'm interested in starting a supper club in the Westfield, MA area. I am no gourmet chef but do love to cook, enjoy a glass of wine and meet new people.

ConnieW,

I would be interested in joining. I live in Douglas, Ma (about 45 minutes away) but would be willing to drive. I have a friend who may be interested as well.

Hi Britin,
I'm trying to set something up for Saturday, August 19th. Are you available? How would you like to do this - Would you like me to plan and cook the entire meal then we can take turns hosting a meeting? Or would you like everyone to bring a dish? Or would you like everyone to bring stuff and we can prepare it together? Please let me know your thoughts. Your friend is more than welcome! connie

Hi ConnieW,

I am actually on vacation that week and will be returning that particular day and am unsure of the time, so I would miss it this time. I am going to also send this post to the other person I know who may be interested. As far as how I would prefer to do it, I am flexible. Have you heard from others who may have a preference? I guess I would lean towards each bringing a part of the meal or preparing the meal together.

Hi, I'm new to the northeast but am interested in supper clubs here. Is Wilbraham MA anywhere near you?

Hi Kwink,

You are about an hour from me, but closer to ConnieW (maybe 20-30 minutes, I am not completely sure. I just looked up Wilbraham on Yahoo maps and it looked that way.)

I don't mind driving to where you are. Do you mind driving here sometimes. If we got started, perhaps you and ConnieW could hook up and drive together. I have a friend that could make the drive there with me and come to think of it, I will see if another friend is interested. She also lives in Westfield.

Hi Everyone - Thank you for your interest in the supper club. I think this could work out very well. Wilbraham is only about 30 minutes from me - not far at all. So, what is our next step? Do we want to get together at a mid-point meeting place somewhere (maybe at a restaurant or something) and go over how we should start this supper club and take it from there as to setting up the first dinner? I'm willing to travel. Please let me know your thoughts. Connie

That works for me. When would be a good date for you ConnieW and Kwink? The only dates in August that I cannot be available are 8/12-14, and 8/18-19. Did you have any ideas on where to meet? I am sure that I can find out how to get there if I have an address. I am not too familiar with what is along that route.

I have tentative plans for the weekend of 8/25 - 8/27 and the following weekend is Labor Day. How's Sunday, 8/20? We could get together for lunch or a cup of coffee and put together our first dinner. Are you close to 91 or the MA Turnpike? I'm close to both so we could meet somewhere in the middle if you want.

I do apologize, but that date is actually my husband's birthday. Originally he was going to be traveling but that has been postponed. If that date worked for everyone else, then I can just get the details later.

If not, I am about 20-25 minutes from the Mass Pike in Auburn, so I guess the Pike would be better. Would you consider a week night since August is a little hectic? What do you think would be a good mid-point? My friend, Julie, that I mentioned a little while back is interested and had indicated that the 19th was the only conflict that she could see in August.

Hi everyone, sorry I've haven't replied - I've been under the weather. Anyway, I still would like for everyone to get together to determine how to get this group going. I'm free any night after 6:00 PM or any weekend except for 8/18, 19 and 20. I know this is a tough time of year to get people together, so I'm flexible. I do think meeting off the turnpike is a good idea. Exit 7 is about 30/35 minutes from me. Is this an acceptable meeting place for everyone? Please let me know your thoughts.

Hi ConnieW,

Meeting off of Exit 7 sounds fine to me. I could also meet most weeknights after 6:00 also. Next week, I could meet on Tuesday or Wednesday night the 15th or 16th. Also, any night the following two weeks. Saturday, the 26th is free as well. Do you definitely have plans for that weekend? Please let me know how these dates work for all of you.

Hi Britin,
Why don't we get together on Tuesday, the 15th around 6PM off of Exit 7 on the Turnpike. I think there's a Friendly's, Dunkin Donuts and a McDonalds there, where would you like to meet? Then maybe we can set the date of Saturday the 26th for our first dinner. Is your friend, Julie, still interested? Kwink, are you still interested? If so, does this work for you?

That's great! I think Ludlow is Exit 7, and 6:30 would be fine for me on Tuesday at Friendly's. As far as the actual dinner goes, I'm really free any weekend except the 18th - 20th, so we can work around Julie if you want. I haven't heard anything else from Kwink - I hope she's still interested!
P.S. You're correct, Westfield is Exit 3 and I'm only minutes away from there.

That works for me!!!! Julie is able to make that date to, although she cannot make it on the 26th. Do you know what town Exit 7 is in. If I recall correctly, exit 3 is the one I take to get to Westfield. We may need to make it 6:30 as I will be leaving from a different location and will be further away. Friendly's would probably be a good place to meet. We are looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hi Lizz13.1,
That would be great for you to join us Tuesday night. I think we have about 4 people so far. Since no one knows one another, I'll get to Friendly's a little early and talk to the hostess so she can direct everyone to the table. But just in case, I'm about 5'6" with short blonde hair.
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.

Great! I too look forward to meeting all of you too. I am about 5'4 with short blond hair. I used to work at Friendly's as a kid in high school, so among my talents in life, I can scoop a mean ice cream cone!
