The resurfacing of an older thread and a comment there made me wonder --

What's the most you've ever spent with Penzey's in a single trip?

What's the least you've spent in one trip?

It's hard to go in and get justone thing, even if that's the only thing you thought you needed. I have a bit of a drive to get there, so I usually try to make it worth the trip. I know I did get out under $10 once, but my average is probably between $20 and $30.

The most I have spent was right at $100 -- but that was buying a large shopping bag full of spices to make rubs for Christmas gifts as well as the things I needed. That ws pretty amazing.

I bought a number of box sets of spices as gifts last Christmas, as well as things to use in my own holiday baking, and I'm sure the total ran me at least $100. I generally don't order unless I need at least two things, but I suppose I might have gotten away with as little as $15.

(I have not made it to their Arlington store, but order online.)

I am sad to say that I have never visited their stores. Absolutely none in the area. I do all of my ordering on line. They always enclose a free sample of one of their spice or herb. Do they give you anything free when you visit a store? I would say my largest order was for $42.00 and the smallest around $17.00

I've never gotten a freebie from the store but I never used the freebies I got in the mail order days.

I once went in and bought the one spice I was looking for and nothing more. I spent like $4.00.

The most has been over $100 when putting together gifts.

My average is $20-$30.

My largest order was over $300 but that was when I was buying for the restaurant. Personally my largest order has been $200. My lowest order was $75.

I'm lucky to live close to a store and I get to the Milwaukee area frequently, so I don't often stock up all at once. And I'm quite proud of myself that when I stopped in yesterday to pick up a jar of Turkish seasoning and a bottle of vanilla, I only added a small jar of aleppo pepper as my "impulse" buy! I think it was about $15 total, which is probably the least I've ever spent in a store.

As for the upper end, I think I paid about $80 on my shopping trip that included putting together a custom set of seasonings for my step-daughter's wedding shower.

I'm jealous you have a store so close by. I have a catalog sitting at home and every time I look at it I think I can't put together an order for less than $100! I really need to take a good inventory of what I have and what needs to be replaced and then really work that catalog over!

Sneezles has us all beat, i bet! But i did help a friend spend about $70, replacing their whole basic spice set that "died" in a kitchen fire. personally 30-35 bucks is the most. of course, now that i have to order from the catalog, i'll probably make sure it's worth the postage! I moved away from my Penzey's.
i also spent $2.84 once-- a tiny jar of something.
