My sister-in-law is pregnant, just got married, and just moved to Minneapolis with her new husband. She is having a tough time getting settled and one of the things that would help her is finding a nice grocery store - besides Cub Foods, which is the only place she's found so far.

They're living in Roseville. I found Byerly's online - that seems like the kind of place she's looking for - good produce, good meats, etc.

Any suggestions?

TIA!

Byerley's is one place.

Another is Lunds. I'm not sure of all their locations, though, so I don't know if there is one near her. And of course, there's Whole Foods, which I also can't remember where it is located. And I think there's a Trader Joe's in uptown now, but I'm not sure on that one.

Gee, I'm a lot of help, aren't I?

Kowalski's

Lund's

Byerlys

Whole Foods Co-ops/Community Co-ops

don't forget Penzey's!

So much has changed since I moved from the Roseville area 10 years ago, and I know the above stores are around, just don't remember where (except for Byerlys - they are on Co Rd C between Snelling and Cleveland...approximately).

Personally, I think Cub is still one of the most reasonable places to shop in the Cities. I've always found they've had good quality, quantity and variety. Tho of course it depends on which Cub (neighborhood related).

My brother and his wife live right near there- they shop at the Cub Foods in St. Anthony. Cub Foods near us is heinous- dirty and poorly stocked, but theirs is really nice, comparatively speaking. This Cub Foods has a great cheese selection and an olive bar, and a really nice natural foods selection. They seldom shop at Byerly's unless they're really looking for something specific- it's a pricier grocery store. Whole Foods and Trader Joes aren't really near Roseville, they would be a bit of a trek to get there.
