Hi Lisa, Theresa, Lauren, Catherine, Robin, Cindy and Pattie

I know one or more of you will be on this board at some stage so thought I'd send a big hello from Downunder.

We've been back 3 weeks now and settled in to our house, family and friends. I'd forgotten how much I loved my garden and this summer is promising to be hot hot hot! Yesterday it was 90 degrees and we're still in Spring!

What is going on with the election over there??? Is everyone as gob-smacked as they are here? Soooo close!! Must admit I was hoping Al would get the nod but it sounds like Dubya is going to win. Is that the feeling in the US??

I suppose you will all be getting ready for Thanksgiving. Oooh how I envy you. And I heard there were a couple of flurries before Halloween!!! Sounds like you are in for a white Christmas - I'm now truly truly envious! Oh well, think of us having our barbeque in 110 degrees on Christmas day.

I miss you all and wish that someone would invent that "Beam me up Scotty" machine from Star Trek so I could make it to the next Supper Club.

Hope all is well with everyone. My email address is: deanne@clyr.com (my husband's company) and I'd love to hear from you all.

Cheers
Deanne

Deann, I'm here. It's lunch time and I usually look at the board, most days. I noticed your message right away. Great to hear from you. I'm envious that it's spring, approaching summer. How I miss my gardening already... Lisa is hosting the next dinner and it will be Dec. 1st. She assures us that she will have her Christmas tree up. The theme this time is appretizers and desserts. Glad to hear you are home and settling in. Yes, the election is a mystery. They say that Bush will be annouced the winner, today, but that there are still outstanding absentee ballots to consider, and the mishap in Palm beach county. Who know what the final outcome will be. Everyone is wondering what we are suppose to do the the lime leaves?
Regards, Theresa

Hi Deanne - Lisa here!
I was hoping you would get in touch with us after you got settled back in! Now I don't think that it's fair that you got to spend the Summer here and then go back to Australia to have another Summer. And it sounds a lot hotter than it is here! You know I have to admit that I never really thought about how it would be the heat of Summer in other countries while you are celebrating Christmas. I associate the cold weather and warm comfort foods so much with the Holidays. Especially baking - I bake it seems all throughout December. Hmmm how would this work in 110 degree weather!

We miss you at the supper club. As Theresa said we met at Lauren's and we made a pizza together. All of the food was great. The next is here at my house. Seems like a ways away but will probably creep up quickly! I am busy trying to complete my Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving. Thanks for your e-mail address and we'll be sure to pass on any good cooking recipes and tidbits we come across. Are you getting the magazine again since you moved back? Will most likely take a while to straighten that out again!

Sounds like everything with the move back went well which is good to hear.

Keep us posted of your fun in the sun and we'll let you know when there is so much snow we have trouble driving to work!

Bye for now - Lisa

Hi Deanne, it's so good to hear from you! Yes, we miss you at the supper club. If you got your Oct. issue, we have tried the sausage soup with wild spinach and wild rice, and a few of the apple crisps. Also, the artichoke and spinach dip, you probably have this on mastercook.

I've got my sons baking, banana bread from the Oct. issue is in the oven now. So, CL is a family project!

The CL bulletin board is busier then ever. It is really handy at times. I'm going to a Pampered Chief party tonight, and I was able to read reviews of several of their products ahead of time.

Take care and enjoy the great weather, Cindy.

Deanne,

Great to hear from you! We miss you and your funny stories.

We just got back from a week at Disneyworld and I miss those warm 85 degree days. Lucky you!

Keep in touch,
Lauren

Hate to put you all on the spot-but any openings in your supper club?

I'm in Warwick--feel free to let me down easy if you're at a number that works for you or if I'm too far for the MA people......

Thanks,

Kristi

Just thought I would pop this to the top of the board--any answer yet?

If it's no, is there anyone else out there interested in starting one in Rhode Island or southern mass?
