1. Which of life's mysteries? Hmm. I do believe in an afterlife (the Biblical heaven and hell), but it seems to me that much of heaven's pleasure will be in fearless exploration and the wonder of discovery. So, I hope none of life's mysteries are solved too easily there.

2. Historical person to talk with? Nero. I would like to understand why.

3. Living person to talk with? My brother, who is a meth addict. I would like to really talk and find a way to help him.

4. Famous person I admire? Elizabeth Elliot.

5. Person close to me I admire? My former boss. She is who I want to be when I grow up. :)

1. Assuming there is an afterlife full of knowledge, which of life’s mysteries would you want solved?

Hmmm, interesting question but I don't have an answer. I believe in the afterlife but I've never thought of it as a time of full knowledge.

2. Which person in history would you most like to have a conversation? Why?

Sarah Josepha Hale. She is the mother of the US Thanksgiving Holiday and one of my ancestors. http://womenshistory.about.com/od/thanksgiving/a/hale_thanksday.htm

3. Which person, alive today, would you most want to talk to? Why?

Michelle Bachelet, president of Chile. I lived there in high school and am in awe of her ability to survive the tortures of the Pinochet regime and push herself for her cause to the point of becoming president of a country.

4. Who is someone famous that you admire?

Melissa Ethridge. She fought a battle against breast cancer, came out on top and has sung amazing music since then. I don't often watch award shows and the night that she sang Janis Joplin's song on the Grammy's I happened to flip over and catch it. She was bold from chemo and let out this heart wrenching powerful animalistic scream that to this day gives me the chills. www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1_lFCeGUDo

5. Who is someone close to you that you admire?

My mama! She never finished her degree but has perservered through the corporate world, makes 6 figures, endures rhuemetoid arthritis and is still a wonderful, caring, joyful woman.

1. Assuming there is an afterlife full of knowledge, which of life’s mysteries would you want solved?
I really don't believe in an afterlife, but I would love to know the secret to my Granny's rice pudding.

2. Which person in history would you most like to have a conversation? Why?
Funny - I think I would choose my Granny. She died when I was 18, and there are some things my mature self would like to say to her: Thank you, I am sorry, I admire you greatly. (Oooh, I'm choking up here!)

3. Which person, alive today, would you most want to talk to? Why?
My oldest DS. He is starting to show teenager belligerance and I would love to have a conversation with him that he would really really listen to, before he turns away from me completely. (Project for the weekend, hopefully)

4. Who is someone famous that you admire?
I'm kind of stumped on this one. I should think of some activist or politician, and I just CAN'T right now. So I will say Natalie Portman. One can be beautiful, talented and famous and intelligent too? You don't say? Gotta respect her for that.......

5. Who is someone close to you that you admire?
My Dad. How can he be such an unselfish source of support to every single person around him and yet still be such an upbeat guy? How does he live with my mother? I sometimes stare at him in wonder.........

1. Very tough question. I would love to find out my family's history. I don't know my roots much past my grandparents.

2. Eleanor Roosevelt because she seemed so brave and intelligent. She had many insightful things to say.

3. My XBF who I can't seem to let go of. I still have unanswered questions.

4. Oprah. I think she has done many good things for people and has had to fight much personal criticism (mostly about appearance), as do most people in the spotlight.

5. My mother, of course!

1. Assuming there is an afterlife full of knowledge, which of life’s mysteries would you want solved?

Many many mysteries. M-theory, SR theory, string theory, creationism, parallel multiverse, grand design of human potential, etc...

2. Which person in history would you most like to have a conversation? Why?

Edgar Cayce - I want to know who "the source" is. And if "the source" was who it claimed to be, I'd ask it all of the above.

3. Which person, alive today, would you most want to talk to? Why?

Madonna. I'd tell her thank you for taking the lumps for growing up and maturing in the public eye - which granted me a form of absolution in my own human condition. She paved the way for my generation to claim their strength as formidable, yet sexual women.

4. Who is someone famous that you admire?

Still Madonna - she's the original f-you woman - she taught me all about girl power and to never cry Uncle.

5. Who is someone close to you that you admire?

My husband. He's awesome; truly awe inspiring. Brilliant, dedicated, loving, patient and kind.

1. Assuming there is an afterlife full of knowledge, which of life’s mysteries would you want solved?

Why we can't seem to pull our resources together to solve disease and poverty

2. Which person in history would you most like to have a conversation? Why?

Thomas Jefferson, because he was interested in everything

3. Which person, alive today, would you most want to talk to? Why?

Barbara Kingsolver, because I really enjoy the characters in her books and I wonder if there is anything of herself in them.

4. Who is someone famous that you admire?

Bruce Springsteen, literate, concerned about humanity, wise, charismatic, and a family man.

5. Who is someone close to you that you admire?

My DS. He just graduated from high school as valedictorian and took advantage of the opportunity to deliver a speech that said something meaningful to his peers and the thousands of other people in the audience. He was thoughtful and deliberate about emphasizing "we" rather than place himself in a position of giving advice or inspiration. He was so poised and self-confident - I could never have spoken at an event like that when I was 18. (now if only he could understand the importance of writing thank you notes....)
