At 6:45 AM, I have to be registered and in the cardiac lab.
I totally dread this test, but especially at 6:45AM. Please pray that they do not find anything. My heart has been hurting, but it could be that hiatal hernia thing, Dr. just wants to be sure.
I am not a morning person. SO not a morning person.

I had symptoms that were a dead ringer for a hiatal hernia. Went to the doctor and he asked me about medications. Turns out, one that I'm on is a very common culprit in not going all the way down the esophagus, dissolving and causing a ulcer right at the opening from the esophagus to the stomach. I was in so much pain I could barely even drink water. I resorted to drinking ensure to try to get some nutrients for over a week. I was given 10 days of Nexium and was fine by about day 7. Now I drink lots and lots of water when I take that pill. I'm hoping your pain is being caused by something similarly easy to treat and prevent.

I will be praying for you.
They kept me in the hospital for a stress test after that time I passed out. I sat around all day so they could have me there and fasting. The boredoim and frustration were worse than the test. I wouldn't want top be getting up for it early either, but at least you'll have it over with and have the rest of the day.
Hoep everything goes smoothly and you have piece of mind soon.

I'm sure everything will be fine--but you're in my thoughts and prayers. Isn't it funny how emotionally stressful a physical stress test can be?

More like physically exhausting....
The last one about 10 years ago, they kept pushing me and pushing me and I hate sweating in front of people. Dripping everywhere.:(
The stress test, in itself, doesn't bother me, because I just want to know what is hurting. Just about my entire family has heart disease. At night, I am afraid to go to sleep when it hurts. Last night was one of those nights, but I guess it was because this was on my mind.
I'm off now. Keep me in your prayers...don't want to be passing out or anything.

Robyn, my daughter-in-law has been in the hospital since last Thursday with 8 ulcers on her esophagus. One more test today and hopefully she will be home.
Joyce, good luck with your test. It could be just stress from all that you are going through.

I was going to make a joke...saying you don't need a test to tell you that you've got stress in your life :p ;)
I think you have a good doctor because many poo-poo women's complaints.
It is better to do this and get peace of mind or fix anything that may require it
I pray you are fine and will live a long, healthy life!
Best to you.

With all the assorted stresses you've had lately, I'd vote for ulcers! Not a good thing but quite treatable. A good doctor will make sure he/she rules out heart disease especially with a family history. Much has been made of the fact that women with heart disease don't present symptoms the same way as men and that their complaints haven't been taken seriously.
Be glad your doc is covering (and ruling out) all possibilities before deciding on exactly what is amiss. Good luck & report back on how things went.

Things went fine. I had a stress test back in 2000. It flat out took everything I had in me to complete that test. I was amazed at how I didn't even have to break a sweat today. She said I was probably in better shape from going to the gym.
The doctor looked at the range I need to be in and then looked at me and said: "Are you 56? I was wondering what was going on, you sure don't look
56." That made me sail through the test...I bet she says that to all of the girls...HAHA
Anyway, I will know the results in a couple of days. Will let you know. Area around heart still hurts.
I did hear the tech point out something to another tech. She said "Look how high her liver is." They didn't do any enzyme tests or anything, so I think she was talking about the proximity of my liver to my heart.
I was going to make a joke...saying you don't need a test to tell you that you've got stress in your life :p ;)
No kidding! :D :D
Glad it was so much easier for you today -- hoep the results are just as good.

:D Sounds like she has a great bedside manner! (or would that be treadmill-side?)
I was having some pretty scary chest pain a few years ago, and also had concerns based on family history of heart problems. It turned out to be stress-induced spasms of the muscles in the chest wall and not the heart at all. I hope your results are equally benign, and I'm glad the test was such a breeze for you!
Take care,
Robin

I wondered if something like this could be possible!!! Because it didn't feel like past experience with hiatal hernia or gastric reflux.
Can I ask what your treatment was for the stress-induced spasms of the muscles?
My niece works at hospital down the road, where test was read. She helps with the catherizations and she told me if I required one that she would take real good care of me. Gotta love that girl.
