Thanks guys!

I did some celebrating this weekend for my birthday. We went to sushi on Saturday night. DS suggested this since he hates that we always go out to sushi without him (when MIL is here to babysit). And since it's my favorite I agreed. It was his suggestion of miniature golfing afterward that made me draw the line! He was starting to think that it was his birthday. :D

Yesterday DH took the kids out so I could have some time alone and then in the afternoon we tried to go to the beach. It was so crowded that we couldn't find parking and just came home. :( We don't normally do the beach on the weekends because of this. So we had an early dinner and then went out for ice cream. :)

Happy Birthday Stacy! Hope you are enjoying your special day! Im impressed your 6 year old eats sushi. I cant get my son to eat fish cooked! I hope you have plenty of time today to do your favorite thing-cooking. May your birthday be Gourmet! love Deb

Well, you know that my oldest is more like your oldest and our youngest kiddos are the picky ones. DD didn't eat anything while we were there. Instead of springing for a plate of teriyaki chicken like we usually do and then having it go untouched, we got her some cheaper tofu that she didn't touch. And I'm still trying to get DS to try the eel. It is so sweet and yummy, I actually always eat it last to serve as my dessert but I don't think he likes the look of it.

Also, always on the back of my mind is whether or not it is safe for young kids to eat sushi. I would kick myself if he got sick from it. That's one more reason we decided to go on Saturday instead of Monday. The fish is supposedly fresher on the weekends.
