Ok all you creative types and word smiths - I need some help! My daughter is turning 8, and she wants to have an ice cream sundae party and sleepover. The party will be on Sunday night and we'll send everyone home on Monday morning. We're trying to think of catchy invitation wording and are having a tough time with it! Here's what we have (feel free to groan when appropriate): :p

Here's the scoop...Abby's turning 8.
And now it's time to celebrate!
Come on over for an ice cream sundae
Then spend the night, and go home Monday (this is especially groanerific!!!!)

Location: Abby's Amazing Ice Cream Shop (our address)
Open: "Sundae" July 22, 6:00 PM
Closed: Monday July 23, 10:00 AM
No Reservations Required (but please let us know if you can't come) (email)
Bring Your Own: pajamas, pillow and sleeping bag

Any suggestions?!? I'll give you my maraschino cherry if you can help us out! ;)

groan-a-rific or not the invitation wording is perfect for what you are doing! i love it!

if you are making the invitations maybe you can put your daughters picture in one of the scoops of ice cream. just a suggestion as i like to put my kids pictures on the invitations in one way or another

Either Parent's Magazine or Family Fun had this party theme about a month ago. I gave my copy to a friend so I can't check. They had an adorable tower they made from ice cream cones.

LOVE THE INVITATIONS!! What a coincidence, too. My daughter is turning 8 y.o. 8/3 and she wanted a sleepover, but either her friends weren't ready or the parents weren't!:( So her second request was a cooking party and we are doing "Emily's Eatery" where it is O.K. to play with your food! We're doing make your own pizzas and sundaes. She's going to likely have one friend spend the night.

Hope your party is a smashing success!
