Is anyone interested in starting a supper club in the Boston area? I'm new to the area and live in Newton.

Yes--I would be interested. There was (I think) another Boston group that got started at some point, but they were full. There have been a few inquiries here since then, but never more than one or two. I live in Cambridge; my partner and I both work in Boston. Newton sounds nice and nearby! Are there any other folks who'd be interested in a Boston/Cambridge/Arlington/Somerville/Newton/Watertown sort of group?

Thanks for responding. If you're still interested, feel free to email me at lesliespeidel@hotmail.com. I was thinking we might want to get a small group started and we can keep seeing if others are interested.

My husband & I would both be game. We live in the Arlington Heights area.
I have to admit that I rarely check this message board, so if you're interested, please just email me directly.
Cheers/

Great - it looks like a few of us are interested in starting a cooking group! I suggest we all plan to have an initial get together to get to know each other and find out what interests each of us.
Please email me at lesliespeidel@hotmail.com if you're interested, and I'll start a group email to get in touch with everyone about a good date and time for our first meeting. Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Has the club formed yet? I'm in Stoneham and I'd definitely be interested. I belonged to a group several years back and I miss it. It was really fun and definitely encourages you to undertake dishes you may not attempt on your own. Pls let me know if there are plans to get together!

Good luck to you all with your new group. I'm part of the S.E. Ma. group, we have been meeting since August. We've had so much fun trying the themes and recipes from the magazine, as well as others. We currently have eight in our group, we found this to be a good size. Cindy.

That's great that all has gone well for your club. I'd love to hear about ideas that have worked / not worked for your club. How did you get started?

We began by meeting at a resturant. We all introduced ourselves and talked amongst ourselves to get to know each other. We stated what we thought the club should be. How often to meet, party themes, cooking together or not. Then we planned our first party. From there, at each party we plan the next party. For the most part, our parties have been to bring the food just about ready. This way we don't waste much time on cooking. This month's party is going to be a couple's party. Currently when we meet, monthly, it has been women, only. This has worked out great, but I am looking forward to meeting the hubby's. It is so much fun, good luck on getting started. - Theresa

I just found out about this feature last night as I was perusing the lastest issue. Is it too late to join up with the newly formed Boston Area supper club? I live in Jamaica Plain and at present would prefer places that are T accessible. Please contact me at my email address: wood.andrea@bcg.com. Thank you!

Hi: thanks Theresa for explanning our set up. We've tried themes often sparked by some topic in the CL magazine. Our most challenging was probably the Indian dinner, it required the greatest search to get suitable breads and deserts, etc. We have been introduced to baking with bread machines and with a pizza stone by members.
One fun theme was to bake a pizza together and build the rest of the dinner around that: we tried spinach and artichoke dip, the wild rice, spinach, and sausage soup,
and some apple crisp recipes at this dinner.
We don't always pick a theme, but we do e-mail prior to our next dinner to cooridinate
the meal and wine.
Good luck with your first meeting on the 20th!

I'd be interested in joining a supper club as well. I'm in the Somerville/Cambridge area. Is there one already started here that I can join?
