Another Supper Club in NYC?

I know that a group just formed in Manhattan, but it is already too large. Are there enough people interested in starting a second one in Manhattan? I live in Hoboken, but am in the city all the time (work here) and it's only about 20 minutes on the Path Train to Hoboken if you wanted to come to my place for one of our Club nights. Let me know.

Okay, let's get a second meeting going...

I propose February 16th. It's a Friday, which will be good..the wine will be a'flowing.

I'm in Park Slope (Brooklyn). I like the idea of meeting in a restaurant, as the other group has decided to do. It's a good jump-off point to exchange ideas and information for the upcoming events.

My restaurant recommendations would be Ovo in the East Village, or Mesa Grill (good and flexible menus for "Cookling Light-ers"). I would love to hear everyone's ideas of a place to meet, as well!

February 16th is good for me. I think that Mesa Grill is a bit too pricy for me though. Is Ovo more reasonable?

I am interested in joining this group on February 16th at either location. How does 6:30 or 7pm sound? I live and work in Manhattan and have the room to host a dinner as things get rolling. Let me know the location and place for the first meeting. Thanks.

I just checked the Zagat price for Ovo and it's quoting an average price of $17/pp. Not too bad. Mesa is $44/pp. I was at Ovo once, but I wasn't picking up the check.

These are just two options. If anyone has any other ideas, please put them on the table.

We should most likely have a definate place in mind by the 10th, and then we can make reservations.

dswanson - Where in the slope are you? I'm over by the Pavilion Theatre.

Abbynagle - Yeah! Lots of room in the city. That's great news.

I would also be interested in attending the meeting. I live in Jersey City, about a block from Newport path stop, & a stone's throw from Hoboken (5 minute train ride from WTC). While my place isn't huge, it's open & I could host a small dinner party. And there's an added benefit of the view of downtown Manhattan.

It seems like Feb. 16th works for all of us. I am a bit concerned that we are such a small group. Maybe we can talk to some of our friends and colleagues to see if they are interested?

Actually, a smaller group is okay, too. We can always have people join us as we go.

From the response on here, I'm counting 5 people. If we each bring 1 guest (spouse, significant other, friend), then we're easily at 10-12 - which is perfect. I know that my fiance will be my "date"...not that he has a choice...LOL.

Does everyone know how many people will be attending with them?

Hey all, yes the 16th works for me and my husband. Let's say 6:30. Where is Ovo located in the E. Village. I looked in both Zagat 2000 and 2001 and could not find a listing. How many are we at this point in time--10?
