Does anyone know of any sites (free) that members of the family can post messages and pictures for all the family to view...password protected. My family is scattered in several states, and thought it would be nice if we could go to a site and post things to each other.
Any imput would be appreciated...TIA

Tammy, check out myfamily.com.

You can require a password to access your page, post photos, keep a calendar of family events and birthdays, send out regular emails to your family with the latest info, etc.

It's free, though they show ads on the page. You can also pay for an ad-free version.

I don't maintain a page there, but am an invited member of a relative's page and find it pretty easy to use.

Tammy, check out myfamily.com.

This is the site my family has used for just over 3 years now I think.

I use several different message board sites as gathering places for family. One we use is excoboard.com and the other is proboards.com. Both are free, and both run ads, but the ads are not annoying or intrusive at all. With proboards though you can pay a small fee to have the ads removed if you want, excoboard doesn't seem to have that option.

We actually use blogger--one person sets it up, then invites whomever to post on the blog. It's worked out well so far!

I have a yahoo group set up for my large and extended family. Membership is by invitation, otherwise I have to approve anyone who wants to join.
