Oh, dear. :)

Last week, I entered a contest sponsored through Martha Stewart Radio on Sirius. Couples submitted a 250-word essay that detailed the proposal AND the use of MS ideas. My fear of a Jumbotron proposal entertained the judges enough that we were chosen as one of three final couples who will compete to win a honeymoon and a new mattress.

On Wednesday morning, we'll be quizzed on wedding trivia and etiquette. Couple #2 goes on Thursday, Couple #3, on Friday. Winner is announced on Friday morning. We've got 10 questions to prove that we know our wedding stuff.

Help me study! :) (I've been following the OTHER wedding etiquette thread, so I promise to know that you can't ask for money in your invite.) :D

Congratulations! How exciting.

Sorry, I'd probably be no help on wedding stuff. It was too long ago (17 years this September  ). ;)

Another congratulations! Also, no real help - been married 15 years! But, I think alot of etiquette is simply good manners and common sense.

How exciting! Alas, I can't offer any advice because I'm not yet married--but may end up asking you for advice in the near future :p

But, I'd head straight to the Martha Stewart site and read-up. I'd expect many of the questions to come straight from her own tips.

If I remember correctly you were to get a ring this past weekend??? Care to share?

MK..........is this part of the Today's show's Martha Stewart wedding?

Congrats whatever it is. Give some specifics on what they will be asking.

But being a spinster has nothing to do with it -- in fact, I'm certain that a spinster could easily be the etiquette expert! :D

MK... I've been so out of touch lately I didn't even know there had been a proposal for you! Congratulations on that and being a finalist! If you win do you get to pick the honeymoon destination?

I don't have any etiquette advice either... We had a small wedding on the beach in Hawaii. My husband actually helped me get my dress on, and we all ordered dessert off the menu for our "wedding cake".

Keep us posted!

Congratulations on the engagement, and on being a finalist! That's really exciting. I will refrain from giving you any etiquette advice though, cause I think I was in the minority on that other thread. ;) Good luck!!!!

I know! She slipped it in on one of the "free" threads, the twerp.

ETA: I'm sorry to be crass, but there's something about this newlyweds' prize: "final couples who will compete to win a honeymoon and a new mattress." .......

This twerp really needs a new mattress! :D Originally, the prize did NOT include the mattress, but I get the feeling that a sponsor offered it as a prize. Not wanting to make this sponsor feel "second best," MS Radio tacked it onto the grand prize. Just hypothesizing, though.

I thought you were going to say you were a finalist to have the Today Show Martha Stewart wedding. Come to think of it I think they're still in the application phase so maybe you should try for that too! :D

Good Luck MK!!:) Fingers crossed you get that new mattress!!!!;) (and just to get it straight, it wasn't a jumbotron proposal?!!!)

That was FUN! :) I was nervous to begin with - and I don't seem to posess the skill of making small talk on the radio. We scored an 8/10, missing questions about pop culture weddings. I thought for SURE more people watched Trista and Ryan get married than saw Luke and Laura ... :p

Oh, I have hollysmom to thank! :D I hadn't even thought of googling "wedding quiz" (duh!) until I saw her post. I played on quizzes last night and learned some new information - some of which actually helped me answer other pop culture questions. :D yay!

Yay! I'm so glad you had fun-- helps take the pressure off of Friday, regardless of the outcome. :) Good job. What were some of the other questions, or can you not say?

Careful giving away the questions before Friday - your competition can Google, too! :D

Good luck and belated congratulations!
