There is no body. there is no proof. but bill O'reilly reported that :

Natalee Holloway died from cardiac arrest caused by an accidental drug overdose, a source has told The O'Reilly Factor.

"The Factor has learned from sources we have to protect that Natalee Holloway, the 18-year-old Alabama woman who disappeared two years ago in Aruba, died from cardiac arrest brought on by an overdose of cocaine," Bill O'Reilly said on his Thursday program.

The theory offered by the source, a top law enforcement official, could not be confirmed independently because Holloway's body has not been found.

Heraldo Rivera said that while he was there that her uncles and his entourage spent a couple of evenings in the bar and they all were offered drugs Ecstacy, cocain and some other drug....so because of this they say that this is probably what happened to her and that the boys threw her body in the ocean.

Why is it that this kind of thing can make the news..based on an allegation and yet they act like it is real credible. I just hate to think, as stupid as it was for her to leave with those boys...(and what child hasn't made really bad decisions) , that she suffered greatly....and that no one will ever be brought to justice...and for this story to be put out there...Well, it just makes me angry.

They put it out there because they know people like you will grab on to the story, repost and disseminate the information, factual or not. If there is no audience, there's no need to put it out there.

I understand Joyce's need to bring this to everyones attention and her frustration that this makes the news. Unfortunately without a body there is no story and if Heraldo Rivera is reporting this as factual news then I'd seriously question everything coming out of his mouth! Truth or not ... Heraldo Rivera is an idiot!!!

I will agree with that. And I have no opinion on Geraldo either way.

DmOrtega - Geraldo may have said it, but according to Joyce's post, Bill O'Reilly is reporting it.

You don't think that they are fair and balanced? ;)

Yes, they are both idiots, in my book. WI am saying is this had to hurt the Holiway family, and haven't they hurt enough? NO CLOSURE.

We could line 6 people up and ask them for their speculation and go on air and repeat it, and it would be as credible as this story. (which is not credible, I am NOT saying that.)

LEAVE IT ALONE.

LEAVE IT ALONE.

Joyce, do you not see that by perpetuating this "news" you are supporting those that report it as news and thereby encouraging them not to "leave it alone"?

Joyce, I understand your desire to share your frustration. I would feel the same way. I also understand that you are in no way lending credence to this report.

No need to castigate her for bringing her irritation with the media to everyone's attention. I personally don't believe in the head in the sand approach to the media. The media needs to be held accountable for irresponsible reporting and that will never happen if the only people who pay attention to the stories are the gullible ones.

um....

Geraldo Rivera will forever be remembered as the idiot who took 4-5 hours of airtime and preempted the late news to bust open Al Capone's vault and find......

nothing.

Not anything.

Well done Geraldo.

If you don't want to listen to idiotic non-news, don't listen to idiotic non-news programs.

Listen to the Jim Leher hour -- read a reputable newspaper or weekly newsmagazine.

The first I heard about this, was when I opened the thread.

If you don't lend your eyeballs, they don't get ratings and then the trash is off the air.

That was my point. They get better ratings every time they get press coverage, controversial or not. If we ignore it then they go off the air because they don't have the ratings.
