Hi, MrsReber and anyone else who likes sweet coffee drinks. Here are a couple of recipes from the Starbucks: Passion for Coffee cookbook (sorry Grace) http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif . I haven t tried either, as I tend to be quite boring as far as coffee goes - hot and strong is what I usually go for! (Mind you, I do LOVE the odd Frappucino and such!!) Anyway, here they are! Maybe others have some tried-and-true ones they wouldn t mind sharing. Let me know if you try and like any of these!
Coffee Frappe
18-22 ice cubes, crushed
7 fluid ounces double-strength coffee, chilled
2 tbsp granulated sugar
2 tbsp vanilla, hazelnut, raspberry or other syrup
whipped cream or ice cream, for garnish
Place the ice, coffee, sugar and syrup in a blender. Blend until the frappe is smooth. Pour into a large, tall glass. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of your favorite ice cream. Makes 1 16-oz. frappe (or 2 8-oz. ones!)
Mocha Frappe
Same as above but add 1/4 cup chocolate sauce to blender with the other ingredients.
I don t see why you couldn t use caramel syrup if you wanted to create something like the Caramel Macchiato.
And here are some more, from http://www.soar.berkeley.edu (they have 71 coffee drinks) http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/eek.gif The mere thought of all that caffeine is enough to send me into orbit, as you can see!
